Glenelg coach Mark Mickan was the first guest on the show and Eagles coach Mick Godden on now...

Like I said, I will post the podcast links tomorrow for those that missed the show or want to listen back...

I was listening online when it cut out saying the server was down or something. I can't get back on - is it just me?

You really have to wonder about this show.

They used to race through the teams in the last few minutes until enough of us suggested they read the teams earlier, to give time to discuss the games.

They then did that and we all said how much better the show was for it.

Back to the future tonight. We were again blessed with a quick race through of 3 games in the last 5 minutes. Presumably there was no time for the advertised Reece Homfrey to get on for comments.

Not sure if I'll bother next time.

PS: As I've been saying for a few years now, it's GREEGER, not GRYGER!!!!

Hey mate,

Try doing it yourself next time when one of your guests doesn't pick up the phone at the time they were supposed to...

Just quietly, it was a bloody good show. Informative and entertaining. Ben Nelson, in particular, was a great interview for his 200th game. Cheers.

I don’t have to do it myself. I’m part of what’s called the listening public.

However, my options would have been:

1 “Ben, seeing that you weren’t available at the agreed time, would you mind if we did the interview after the league teams?” No worries, mate.

2 “Ben, seeing you weren’t available at the agreed time, you’ll understand we’ll have to shorten the interview by a few minutes” No worries, mate.

3 Rename the show from the RPH League Teams Show to something more accurate.

I’ve listened to this show for years and usually enjoy it. I’ve praised the show often and if I criticise it, I try to be constructive. As I said, I praised it recently when the format changed.

Finally, I’ve posted about the pronunciation of Ben Grieger’s name for years.

PS: You seem very sensitive about it. ;)

That would have left MORE time for discussion of the teams wouldn't it?
And why should this show be immune from criticism except by those who have hosted radio shows before? In my experience of the show there's very little analysis of the changes, what the potential match-ups might be etc. i.e I'd like more thought put into it.

Hey boys,

It's all good feedback and is appreciated.

Certainly, more time going over the upcoming games seems to work better.

Cheers.

The show is on again tonight, from 8pm until 9pm...

I reckon it is John Nankivell and Jim Hough on the show and I think they may have Chad O'Sullivan from Central as a guest in the studios...

Well, wasn't that much better?

I couldn't listen to the interviews, but Mark McKenzie is usually pretty good and Chad O'Sullivan was entertaining. Get him to read out the teams the way he read the Centrals team and we'd all be happy.

It was nice being able to relax for the game discussions and John Nankivell and Jim Hough kept their focus on the footy, so a much better show all round.

Still one small quibble about the guest selection each week. I think I could picture the discussion about who should be on this week: -

"Well, we've had more Centrals guests than any other club this year and last week we had the Eagles coach, so who should we have this week?"

Ï know, how about a Centrals player and the Eagles captain"

"That's it, brilliant" :D

Even so, a much better show, thanks.

What did he/she think of the show, Fish?

Actually, I had the transistor radio going as well - I might have to zip over to the "things that I rate" thread and post about the humble tranny me thinks. ;)
