Yeah after the 82 prelim we were never going to win the GF.

Same with 87, best two teams that year were North and norwood. We shouldn't have even made the GF.

Yep, we should have done a lot better during the Balme era than we did. We were also a good shot in 88 too (IIRC it was a six horse race that year) but Port won it and got a real sniff after that.

Yep, we should have done a lot better during the Balme era than we did. We were also a good shot in 88 too (IIRC it was a six horse race that year) but Port won it and got a real sniff after that.

Port were the clear cut best team in 88 IMHO ... Our boys had legitimate claims in 87, 89 and particularly 90 but there was always a down patch that would kick in, plenty of offield activities lead to disharmony Im lead to believe.

When people call Australian rules football AFL. No, AFL is the name of an Australian rules football league/competition.

People harping on about who is the greatest player ever (it's irrelevant and unnecessary to compare players over a period of 100+ years).

How the game (especially the AFL from the bit I have observed) seems to have more fans booing umpires than cheering their team, no matter what the score/result is.

That the SANFL seems to copy the AFL with most things except having 4 players on the interchange bench.

Having 2 finals in the SANFL every season start just after noon.

The low standard of facilities at many of the SANFL grounds.

Norwood tried playing some kind of crowd roar over the PA when they kicked a goal, it sounded awful as well as cringe worthy.

Sturt did something at Unley but I think I've put it out of my mind. Might be a snippet of the club song after a goal. It was terrible.

Can anyone remember when this was? I've been going to The Parade for thirty odd years now and can't remember this kind of naff carry on. Mind you in recent years the roars would have been few and far between.
