No I dont think so . The Franchises are in the SANFL so I think it fits here .
I dont think there will be an AFL reserves comp either. I wasnt sue if it was 1 or a 3 year review. Could make it interesting. Do you know if Power are paying a licence fee to be part of the SANFL yet ? I guess we all want an even playing field if they want to be part of it .

Not in a Grand Final thread it don't. Port pay around 7mill for the 15 years and Crows pay around 11mill plus 400k per season. Port don't pay the annual fee because they're one of the founding clubs of the league, the Crows get to use Footy Park for free. I dont profess to know the inner financials of the agreement or the club for that matter, this is just from memory from when the deal was done and published somewhere.

...back on topic:
The last 5 times Port and Glenelg have met in the Grand Final.
Port 5
Glenelg 0

1977 SANFL Grand Final
Port Adelaide
17.11 (113)
Glenelg
16.9 (105)
1981 SANFL Grand Final
Port Adelaide
14.11 (95)
Glenelg
6.8 (44)
1988 SANFL Grand Final
Port Adelaide
12.12 (84)
Glenelg
8.7 (55)
1990 SANFL Grand Final
Glenelg
13.15 (93)
Port
16.12 (108)
1992 SANFL Grand Final
Port Adelaide
17.3 (105)
Glenelg
7.7 (49)

You just couldn't possibly back Glenelg looking at those stats, and they don't even touch on the numerous losses to Sturt and Norwood the Tigers have experienced since the 60's. They simply lack the character to win Grand Finals, and their record against Port is possibly the worst run of losses to a single club in Grand Final history.
Glenelg to crumble in a screaming mess, I am afraid to say.
Port in a canter IMO

Those stats mean f'all apart from we owned Glenelg in a different era, Glenelg in a canter.

Era is irrelevant.
Glenelg lost a grand final to Central not that long ago. Apparently, losing multiple times against Port, Norwood and Sturt isn't enough for them. Losing grand finals is a local past time down there.

Lucky they're playing a different Port this weekend then...

True.
But this version of Port is stacked with the best of what's available from the local leagues. Glenelg uses what's leftover after that. If anything, this is a harder task than those previous 5 attempts.

Well aren't you a bitchy little flog.l at the moment. Let's take this to the whinge thread so you can just sook on about everything that has upset you in the SANFL for the last 100 years.

Sometimes I think you can't even follow your own bouncing ball.

Congratulations to this years Magarey and Ken Farmer medallists, worthy leftovers.

We have probably 10 players that are good to very good, that would fit into the 'best' available, the rest are just or not upto league standard yet or at all. Glenelg have assembled over the last few years a side with the perfect mix of ex AFL experience, solid SANFL experience and a bit of talented youth they are a very good team and will be very hard to beat. I also think the week off will hurt Port.

Yes, Glenelg have done very well with what's available to get as far as they have.
I was merely pointing out that with respect to history, this Port side is a different beast to those sides that have dispatched the Bays in the previous 5 premiership deciders. This side is far better resourced but will still feed on that history of dominance over the Tigers.
Port must be favourites to take home the flag.

That should be 2014 for the last time Norwood played Port there Mal.
That's an interesting list though.
When you consider that Grand Finals were played at Footy Park from 1974 to 2013, it leaves us with the amazing fact that Port has participated in 7 of the past 13 Grand Finals at AO, and lost each one!
