West on reduced salary cap and now reduced playing list. Yes I know we weren’t in contention, but the thought of being even further behind before the siren sounds is a kick in the guts.

That said, rapt for Snelling and Noble, glad to see perseverance pay off.

Wests reduced cap is another issue .

I don't see any of the players drafted will play this year anyway. What a joke this is.

Snelling a chance at Essendon I think

Yet another disappointing "event" for SANFL fans.
I feel sorry for the Panthers supporters.

I just hope South make the finals and Sydney don’t so we can have Knoll back for the finals. Young McGree has big boots to fill. Good luck to Michael Knoll, making an AFL list would be very exciting but I hope he gets to play AFL and not just waste his time playing in the NEAFL.

Speaking to an SANFL assistant coach, he said if drafted to an AFL club that doesn’t play finals, they can come back to their SANFL club if they’re in the major round.

Surely this would only apply if they decide to delist them and not continue with them for 2020, AFL clubs would want them to rest and come back early for a full preseason

So can the “Magpies” replace Sutcliffe with another contracted marquee? Asking for a friend.

That is actual shit if they can be let go at the end of the year.

Its highly unlikely any of them will get a game this year, so basically its an exercise in topping up your seconds side for 5 months.

They can but they receive a $20k bonus if they are let go. I think a couple will stay on a list and this was a way of effectively getting a free hit at the draft

How many tall players do Sydney need anyway? They already have Hayden McLean!

This is clearly the most futile and pathetic draft in history. When the last draft was rolled out 25 years ago there was a possibility of players getting a game. The players picked up yesterday are simply reserve footy fodder and it has decimated some clubs chances of extending their season. If ever the AFL was sending a clear message to local footy that they couldn't give a stuff about their club players or supporters then it was loud and clear last night. I never thought I'd say it but footy just isn't the same and will never recover. It is a giant that has consumed local footy without any thought for anything but its own benefit. South lost Kruger to a make believe draft in September, wont play AFL. Then Brooksby to West Coast in another bullshit draft. Hayden McLean to Sydney after they decided that a tall was needed NOW Michael Knoll to Sydney cos one more tall wouldn't hurt in the draft farce of all time. I'm done !!

REQUIEM FOR THE SANFL
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun
Pour away the ocean and sweep up all the wood
For nothing now can ever come to any good
W H Auden

"Our South Australian" great historic football competition is over, murdered by the Victorian based AFL. Our condolences to all those great players and clubs.

Do the SANFL clubs give the same compensation to the SAAFL clubs when they take one of their players that they are requesting from the AFL?

Did anyone watch the SA U18s squad vs Glenelg Ressies on Sunday? If so, who performed well for the 18s?
