Footage from an SANFL game in 1974... love watching stuff like this, it is (and should always be), a big part of what football is all about, rivalry and passion, both from players and fans.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV5Q_CKkMGE

..."Graham Cornes upsets Phil Carman by raising an elbow, gives the Norwood crowd the bird, kicks into the man on the mark and then gets his face pushed into the Parade turf"...

Classic Stuff
And everyone got on with it after

Yeah, love that footage too. But he doesn't push his face in to the turf. He sort of rubs it in there from memory.

It's like he's teaching Cornes a lesson. Pity Carman didn't exorcise his temper in that manner as opposed to the more explosive ways that he became known for. Collingwood may've broken their premiership drought a lot earlier, and he may well have a Brownlow as well.

Great stuff from the days when footy had characters and the game was entertaining in its own right.

The fact that the Cornes and Port are on the same side of the agrument is fascinating.

Hence they've got nastier - they are fighting within themselves and taking it out on everyone else.
It is a monumental problem of international significance when the Cornes family are upset.

FiveAA wouldn’t put me to air.
Stay tuned over the next week or so.

If norwood say they are behind you I'd get that in writing, considering our history in backflips.

In a serious note good luck with 5AA. I think they are unlikely to be of much help in regards to a public forum more so because the crows SANFL side has come out and sided with Ports side. Also with having a Cornes in the picture I can't see Grahams old mates wanting to help you out much. The old boys are the old boys, no doubt.

This is where a viable rival to the 5AA sport talk-back monopoly would be very useful. I'm sure a rival SA-based sports show would love to hear and air Fester's side of the story, which apart from sticking it up (a) a crap show full of knobs and (b) Cornes, would actually provide a balanced debate on the issue and allow people to judge for themselves.

Yes it is. Enjoy that show too.

Then there is the Rush Hour with Andrew Jarman and former Swans fan favourite Dale Lewis.

Perhaps the above has revealed my lack of knowledge (and interest, more to the point) in the SA radio market. So there are rivals which could hear Fester's side of the story.

However, I can't see Fester's 'SANFL-based' point of view being taken on board or seriously by the collective and individual intellectual might of Roo, Ditts, Jarman and Lewis, all of whom serve an audience which wants an AFL point of view.

But I could be wrong. Get to the airwaves, Fester! I might listen for a change.

You never know.
Surely someone's got some contacts there.
ANJ would want to paint Redlegs fans in a bit more positive light, surely?

At least the Cornes family can rest, knowing they don't need to give the story anymore legs, the forums will take care of that.

You'd like to think so. Lewis coached there too for a bit, right? Hopefully he'd give a stuff as well. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

By the way, which of these three shows is the top-rating for its time-slot?

Then they'd both know the Redlegs representative, would they like to promote him, you think?
