Allegedly, Norwood are under investigation for breaking the salary cap for the past THREE seasons!
And Tripodi is running to the hills, will be resigning from his position at Norwood very soon, or he will be in deep shtick.

Actually centurion broke the story.

I am taking piss about the whole thing if you guys hadn't noticed.

Could all be on the money. Could all be flop sweat, who knows.

Not saying that he isn't on the money. Just saying this thread is based on that first post.

Would`nt surprise me at all if Norwood were over, but really who gives a shit. You cop a piss weak slap on the wrist and move on to the next season. If I were a Eagles or Sturt supporter I would be a little nervous also as I still can`t work out how they fit all of their players in the cap.

I can understand Sturt being under the cap. They were so financially stretched that they wouldn't have been paying big bucks prior to the recent season and furthermore they had a lot of AFL listed players who were only costing them a nominal amount. Thus they were able to outbid the other clubs for Kirkwood and Beard in particular.

The Eagles are a different kettle of fish.

Correct an Eagle is NOT a fish. It is a lizard.

It has been stated previously that Sturt recruited 3 from Port and thank Centrals for that as they recruited McIntyre. A clear winner there.

Pretty sure all that did was balance the ledger from 3 previous transfers the other way that Sturt hadn't paid.

The salary cap issue is an AFL thing from years ago.
Now that we have two teams with an UNLIMITED salary cap the whole system should be abolished.
Any team punished for a breach while we have 2 teams outside the salary cap restrictions within the SAME League would have a 5 minute court case.
Norwood should have legally challenged the last penalty as it was NOT a salary cap breach it was a paper work error which the SANFL have stated.

No salary cap = 8 SANFL clubs going broke

Perhaps but its a joke currently.
Either ALL clubs play under it or none. Cant have two sides in the comp with a cap 30 times higher than the other 8 sides.
Surely if we removed the cap then its up to the clubs to manage their finances better, still have to spend within your means

Not sure how this all effects Norwood anyway as they operate as if there isn't one :-)

Whats worse is clubs who break the cap and still finish bottom ;)
Im sure all clubs push the limits, there is a million ways around the cap if you try hard enough.
