My Scottish team's assets (land and stands etc) are owned by directors who are currently trying to develop the ground without consulting anyone else.

But it'll never happen here of course. ;)

Plenty of parallels there as my good friend WHUFC will attest to.

By the way LOL at a Port Magpies supporter discussing another team's assets, ironic really.

Can't believe you think a football club being selling its assets, in any form, is a good thing.

Burnley did it.
Have since bought back the ground. But only thanks to promotion.

In the end it can work but the club will need some on field sucess as well at the same time.

That is the key. If West can get people through the gates and get there membership up then this can work out for them.

West are carrying the burden of past presidents/board mis management. Most of the people there seemed to be heading in the same direction and have the club at heart. The proposal sounds promising. They need to start winning on the ground to improve off the ground. for the first time in a while some former players want to come back and play for the club, Porps,Helbig and Willits. Big season for the club.

Does any other SANFL club own their club rooms and land?

What happens to the revenue from the club/pokies/bar, does this remain as the WAFC profit/loss and it's purely the asset that gets sold off?

Purely the asset. When Football Park is sold off and there is money distributed to the clubs I am guessing that is when West could buy the clubrooms back???

West to lease back the clubrooms from the consortium who inturn recieves the rent. All revenue is kept by West.

I know it's early days and no doubt there are confidentiality clauses galore around the sale of football park but what is the game plan regarding the SANFL club's in all this?
