Growing up in the 80's I never thought that Eagles fans would ever be called front runners and bandwagoners

most of the eagles supporters that post on this site SS are front runners in that they only post if they are expecting a win, or more commonly, after they have a win. go back and check the North vs Eagles pre game thread and note the eagles supporters that posted there, and are unsurprisingly missing in the post game thread. yet check the post game thread from the eagles only win and it is a hive of activity for the bandwagoners

personally i rarely post in either the pre or post game threads, i only did here to highlight LEH's crap post.

What a load of crap.
There are four Eagles posters in this thread you didn't post in the pre-game one. In the pre-game, Aerie who usually posts sense win or lose, and Mr Fuller who often posts a couple of days after a game.
Perhaps we should go back and look at the Norwood/North thread last year and compare it to the next week when the Eagles towelled up North.

lol, check the thread again mate. i already said i rarely post in either thread, yet i have in this one, and i did in this weeks pre game thread also. might want to check your facts before making statements ;) meanwhile there were other eagles posters in the pre game thread that are yet to make an appearance here. Mickyj and Hopeful Jelly as examples.

and sure, go check the thread from last year, it will prove the point. i guarantee it is full of eagles posters, the exact some ones that are mia in this thread, the very definition of frontrunners.

i also never said you were a front runner SS, just that most eagles supporters on this site seem to be. but there are exceptions to every rule.

That first sentence was meant for this "issue" overall, not necessarily your posting tipper, so I apologise for that.
I'm sure every team has supporters that are a bit more enthusiastic after a win, your team is absolutely no different.
As for me, I rarely post in the pre-game thread, and can't get to too many games and rely on the telly a bit, so my post-game ones are usually limited.
As for this game, not seeing or hearing it and not being around a computer all weekend, is seems it was summed up on the first page. North are a step ahead of the Eagles, which is a bit of a surprise to me because I thought we'd be battling it out for 5th spot, and we were found out by a lack of pace, which is no surprise at all.

North were very good - bad kicking in 1st 1/2 kept Eagles in it.

Great 1st game by Campbell Heath. Byron Sumner played well too.

North are the team to beat. Eagles will struggle to get the double chance - our lack of pace is very evident. :(

Dear Tipper... did you read this on the 1st page of the thread?

I also posted in the PRE-GAME stating that I picked North by 25 pts.

Some of your mates are missing though. Some quite vocal after a win but disappear real quick after a loss.

What a load of rubbish. Apparently I am a bandwagoner because I haven't posted yet. Unfortunately I had a family function Sunday and have been with clients all day today. I apologise for having a job that doesn't allow me to waste time on the internet during the day. Tipper, we aren't all 14 year old giggly school girls who get edgy when we haven't made a recent contribution to a blog or social media.

Anyway back to the game.....

North far, far too good. A very quick side who seemed to win the game from their half back line. Despite the loss, I truly believe that we have the means to rectify our game style so that we will win next time we play. I thought North have some very good young players coming through, in particular that italian looking who plays in the midfield with the beard (Amato?).

As for the Eagles, things turned sour when Almond went as this upset our balance and we were robbed of one of our few players with speed. Not really sure what Godden was thinking moving Day up forward before trying Culley. It is clear the latter has no idea about how to play up forward. If he wasn't going to be played at FB he should have been taken off.

We had quite a few good players though. Goldsworthy played a terrific game, Sumner was good again, Petrenko was solid. Ainger played quite well but I have to wonder why he is so reliant on chest marks to take a grab rather than extending his arms. He's robbing himself of a couple of goals. Heath seems like a fairly neat sort of player. Not too sure whether he is the type of player who is likely to give us rebound and run off the half back line (like what Campbell was doing for North). However, I think we'll see a fair bit of him and he will be useful.

For this weekend's match we'll need to replace Poole (suspended) and Almond (injured). Not too sure which midfielders in the reserves have been standing out but maybe into the side will come Schwarz for his debut and Kane (I'm not too keen on the latter but don't see anyone else as likely to come up).

Crunch game against the Bays coming up.

Thought you had 2 players suspended? Or was one a "reprimand" or whatever it's called nowadays?

Anyway, don't mind me I have to get back to giggling or something.

Is that really the best insult you could come up with? Lol. My 3 year old daughter comes up with better. Anyway, I look forward to reading all the eagles supporters posts again after their next win.....

I bet she does. It must be tough living with you I'd imagine so she'd have quite a good list of insults. :o Never mind, we all still look forward to listening to your valuable summary of the game, who played well that sort of thing. So who did you think played well for North? What moves by Francou triggered the comeback?

Sorry to all and sundry for only getting on the computer for the first time since last week and not posting until now - I hope people have not been losing any sleep over it. FYI, I also did not post in the post-game thread after the 114 point win against South, so I'm not sure if that makes me a front runner? I don't post every week either - in fact, my post in the pre-game thread was only about my 3rd post all year on the site.

Regarding the game, North were far too good and deserve to be one of the premiership favourites. The quarter time score flattered us a bit as we were very efficient whilst North wasted a few opportunities. Our midfield was slaughtered all day and North hurt us with their pace after we repeatedly turned the ball over going into the half-forward line. Allmond's loss with what looked to be a hamstring injury was significant as he is a key part to keeping the ball in the forward line.

Interesting to see that Salter was reported however Dalwood came through unscathed. It would appear that what Dalwood did to Salter was 'payback', however I suspect Dalwood wasn't reported as it was well behind play with the umpires not seeing it and the game camera not capturing it as the ball was already too far down the ground.
