I ignorantly was under the impression the Magpies had been gobbled up by the Power but clearly there are some who value a local Port side who can truly represent the area in the SANFL. Hopefully for their sake the Magpies can at least gain independence on field.
A lot of their cheer squad don't go for the Power at all and would have gone for West Coast last night.
Not 100% true, although most of the people there yesterday do not go for the Power (Many of the Power supporters said they could not do two games) we do have alot of Power supporters in our Cheer Squad as well as other teams and a few who only follow SANFL.There was even a Power Supporter helping to hold the sign up yesterday as he does not want to see his SANFL club just be a reserves side. . Although I will say out of the People who go every week most are non Power Supporters, we get alot of crap from port supporters for not following the Power but we all get along fine no matter what club you support in the AFL. There have been some disagreements in the past I will admit that but at the end of the day we are all there to support the Magpies so the AFL club we support should not matter.
Personally I did not really care who won last nights AFL match. Even though I myself do not go for the Power I have helped our their Cheer Squad at times when they have needed it in the past. The Magpies and Power Cheer Squads have always worked well together given that the two leaders are brothers it helps, we often do banners at the same location and we even sponsered the Powers first ever banner for a pre season cup game, even if the club did not like a Magpie being on the back of that banner and also told us to never bring our Magpie flags to a game again which lost a few supporters before the first AFL league match.
