Players in the domestic Queensland comp who fancied themselves in the big picture and hankered after an Australian rep cap headed south and played in Sydney. The Brisbane comp was like the SANFL here - genuine but on the second rung. So you get all these players who walk out on their home state (Qld) and go to NSW to develop their game and suddenly get all this support. Why?
Go NSW tonight!

I hate NSW, I hate New South Welshmen, they come across as arrogant, rude and full of themselves. Queenslanders on the other hand are perceived as more relaxed, down to earth and their weather is so much better :D

As for the original point of QLD players moving to NSWRL, that's 20+ years ago, these days its much different, and all clubs has players/feeder clubs based in both states, so QLDers don't need to jump the border to get looked at.

But as was pointed out the other night on TV several of the Queensland team are imports and are not actually from Queensland.
Should be where you are born, its a joke that Samoans and Fijians can play SOO

Well I don't really like Queenslanders. Bogan ratio to population is second only to NT. false claims of climate advantages. rains more days per annum than any state.
Brisbane has 30 less sun hours than Adelaide per annum. Politics are really bad. The difference between the gold coast and a tub of yoghurt is that only one of those has a living culture. Thongs and black singlets are matched only by shorts, Long sox, white shoes and Ray Bans in Cavill Avenue used car lots. A large percentage are weirdly religious and homophobic. If you can't speak Japanese there's no point having a holiday anywhere between the Gold Coast and Cairns.

Probably all very valid points, bet we could come up with a similar list about Sydney, or any other state.
