It is definitely Treeby's last game and potentially the Gowans' last match. All are fiery characters so assuming it is their last game then I am not sure they will care too much about getting reported. I in the GF west made a few years ago their big CHB (sam jones?) was playing his last match and went beserk and hit someone and was reported. Not sure if he was sent off then but was that the beginning of the send off rule?

I think Parry and Sutherland will also have to watch it as both have short fuses. Parry in particular has been looking likely to snap in recent weeks and I don't think he'll care getting suspended for next season if it causes us to win on the weekend. If he does get reported though with his record he'd be looking at 5 weeks at least.

The odds quoted by JT are ridiculous. I thikn the game is going to be a lot closer than most people realise. On paper Centrals team is not any better than the eagles. They just approach the game better and bring a mental edge that many other teams haven't been able to match. If the eagles are switched on from the first bounce they have an extremely good chance of winning.

I think Parry snapping will more likely cost us a game than win it for us. No doubt Central will target him and Treeby, Grocke, Rimington, Thompson etc and try and get under their skin. The Eagles need discipline and any incidents like the Treeby one on the weekend could cost the game.

Eagles best is capable of beating Centrals, i think they've had a couple of close clashes this year but you don't know what your gonna get with the Eagles, are they a serious contender? Their good is good, their bad is soft, insipid & embarrassing eg ( Norwood QF )
I'm hoping they bring their "A" game as yes i want to see Centrals beaten, what game the Eagles bring will be very interesting.
If they let Centrals come out & dictate with intimidation & bully tactics its all over.
The Eagles have to take what Centrals dish up but give alot more & sustain it, sustain the intensity for longer periods than the opposition, that being 4qtrs as Centrals very rarely have had that from opposition sides all year.

Dont be surprised if Treeby gets reported

Sutherland is the CD enforcer
But he will meet his match in that department with Parry
Expecting some fireworks between the 2

People seem to have Pumpa a bit wrong. He is definitely not an enforcer or a sniper in any way. What he is, like many big solid men, is somewhat clumbsy. If he was a smaller guy, neither of the incidents he was reported for this season would have been reports.

Clumsy, yes. Attempts to be an enforcer, yes. Numpty, no.

It was Sam Jones but it wasn't the 2003 Grand Final he was sent off in from memory. I think it was a cople of seasons prior to that and from memory was sent off beacuase he was reported twice in the same game. I don't think any player will go down punching if they know it is their last game, doesn't achieve anything. Just ask Alistair Lynch what his biggest regret in footy was !!!

I think the Dogs might just be slightly ahead in terms of better teams on paper but I think the Eagles are without doubt a massive chance to win this one. It will depend on how much they let the mental battle get to them or not.

I think there would be a few Dogs fans who wouldn't be too fussed about losing this one to the Eagles if it meant winning the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Premierships !!!

On paper the dogs are miles ahead of the eagles, however you care to measure it. Not that it means anything of course, but by reputation and achievement the Eagles aren't in the same ballpark.

Should be a cracker of a game. Despite three narrow wins over the Eags, Dogs start white hot favourite as in 06. Have they have played enough footy though?
1st meeting at ponderosa Obst absolutely dominated in the forward line. We had far too many turnovers resulting in goals.
2nd meeting in round 14 @ Woodville Parry was out suspended
3rd meeting in round 19 @ Woodville Parry out suspended (again) and Cica also out suspended. Two big ins this week.
Not sure if callinan has played against us this year, but he is a gun and a danger man.
I’m tipping around 10 goals will go close to winning. If the likes of callinan, o’sullivan, gowans & havelberg can get the 10 goals then it will be tough.
If the eagles can get 6 goals between Grocke & staple with scoreboard contributions from Rimmo, Goldy, Allmond & Treeby then we are a real chance to match it with the dogs. Need a good start to silence the dogs supporters and get the eagles crowd on his feet. :)
Raymond has has a breakout last two finals, and Macca, Thompson & Tiller with 31 marks between them last week can hold up our defence. Toumpas the potential surprise packet.
Cica for Jack Oatey at his ripe old age.
Cant wait as myself and our regular group were unable to make the prelim due to family holidays. (optimistically hoping to play in and win 2nd semi!!)

The live band performing inside AAMI (Clearway) will be located in Bay 122 in the north-eastern pocket under the replay scoreboard for those that are curious. Also, Keith Thomas has been appointed the duty of handing the Jack Oatey Medallist his award.

Will people (spectators) be allowed on the oval during the quarter breaks, for a kick of the footy? Anyone know?

I was just about to respond to the enforcer comment but I'm glad to see someone else has beaten me to it. With his last two reports, if he had wanted to he could've knocked someone into next year but didn't. He's a big clumsy kid and always gives 100%.
