If you are going to play football on Good Friday, keep it to the evening. The sacred time is actually 3:00pm when the death of Jesus is commemorated.
However, as stated earlier, the reason for not having a match on this day may be more to do with cost than religious observance.
Cheers

ALLEGED death.

Actually, the death was not ALLEGED. Even in secular writings, the death of Jesus is recorded many times. What is alleged is not his actual death but whether he was the Messiah or just a naughty boy! ;)

No probs, will do ... as long as you go to work on Adelaide Cup Day of you don't go to the races, or don't sing happy Birthday for the Queen in June (when it's not her Birthday anyway). :D

Yes I'm a Heathen, and proud of it ... :ymparty:

Final Score:

Subiaco 16.11 107
East Perth 13.13 91

The commentators are saying that Good Friday footy is here to stay. Pretty successful day by the sounds of it.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Good retort, Dedja. True, I need to work on Adelaide Cup Day with my logic ;)
As for the Queen's Birthday, being a member of the Barmy Army I do sing Happy Birthday on that day!

It's a very good crowd for the WAFL.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Surely WA is not a nanna state aswell, i thought we were the only wowser state. Booze was readily available at both NRL games in Sydney tonight.

Build it and they will come.
The first 2 teams to get some kahunas and play on good friday should be granted it permanently.
5000 is a fantastic crowd for WAFL.
One of last nights SANFL games should have been tonight, i reckon if the south v port game was tonight they would have had nearly double crowd. I know as a neutral i would have taken my family down tonight
