Building on a perception by requesting that no night games be played between the two clubs at the Bay is irresponsible from someone in a position of influence over the community. Surely he has a responsibility to set a good example for supporters of his club?

Exactly right.

What makes his comments even more hypocritical is he requested no night games against Centrals because of a 'perception' of crowd trouble yet then said he'd prefer to play Sturt at night, who have also had their fair share of crowd problems.

He then appears to be clutching at straws by claiming Centrals supporters won't travel at night - a fair few travelled to Noarlunga for a night game earlier in year I recall. I wonder if he does any research before making stupid comments to the press.

The only reason I will be going to Glenelg Oval now will be to support my team. I will not spend any money at the ground and I certainly will not be going to the Bay to spend money in your cafes, shops and bars. I would hate to bring down the tone of the area, unlike all the feral drunks that fall out of the Grand on a Saturday night vomitting and relieving themselves on the street after they've dropped half their yiros on the ground.

In all seriousness he is simply trying to get lights up at Glenelg Oval and is in the middle of a court case that is at a very delicate stage.

if it means he commits to no Centrals games for the first 2-3 years due to a "perception" (maybe Centrals fans have been used by those opposing the lights?) and the lights go ahead I say well played. We know once they are up Centrals will play games there under lights.

At this stage our CEO is doing anything he can to get this to go ahead for his board, members and the SANFL. If he didnt do this he would be criticised.

How sad that a mere perception is being used to influence decisions. Even worse that Glenelg are saying it's a perception and not reality yet are still bowing to it.
