MEDIA RELEASE

Scott McGlone

The Sturt Football Club would like to announce that Scott McGlone will not be playing on next year due to work commitments interstate.

Scott came to Sturt in 2008 from South Adelaide. He has played 127 SANFL matches, 68 with Sturt and kicked 16 goals. Scott was runner up in our 2008 PT Morton. He was a fantastic leader and a great person to have around the Club.

The Club wishes Scott all the best for the future.

This is what was posted on the NAFC website:

North Adelaide Football Club and Damon White advise members that he is returning home to Perth. Damon has been a valued person at Prospect since joining the Club in 2002 as an eighteen year old. He came to the Club as an allocated AFL Port Power player. It was evident to all that he gave an unconditional commitment to our Club when not representing the Power. So much so that he remained with the Club after being delisted and became captain for the seasons 2009 and 2010.

Damon and Candice have chosen to go home for family and personal reasons, a decision the Club both understands, accepts and respects. We wish them well and thank them for their contribution to our Club.

so, when does this become a retirement then? He ain't playin' for North anymore, he has retired.

Any chance you could retire from posting !! ;)

SORRY Plecky sweetness, do you want me to spend more time with you?

Nope!! just trying to plug the endless flow of dribble.

Although the 'family reasons' is correct, word around the camp fire is that he delayed his return to WA until Perth changed coaches.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

But if there were facts, it wouldn't be a rumour would it?

And this isn't a rumour thread.
So if you can keep this to confirmed retirements it would be appreciated.

Apart from Hanby & Warren from South have there been any others made to date?

Who are the other players at your club tipped to pull the pin?

The original author clearly wanted to hear rumours as well IMHO.

I can see your point Graham and hadn't seen that.

The topic does suggest players that HAVE retired, so hopefully we'll get that from now on.

Heard it direct from the great man himself after todays game - DANIEL SCHELL played his last game for Centrals today.

Well done on a great career Schelly 7 Premierships what an achievement, and arguably our most versatile player particularly come finals time. =D> :prayer:

Congratulations to Daniel Schell on a FANTASTIC career for the Doggies, will go down as one the great club men...

Also, a top bloke off the field as well, fantastic to have him a part of the LifeFM commentary team throughout the year as well...

All the best in retirement Schelly, enjoy life in the Clare Valley, will be sure to catch up with you for a beer when I'm up there visiting my brother-in-law.

Despite not playing in the game yesterday drifter, Richie was quite emotional out on the ground post game and in the rooms after...

Just a feeling I got but also whispers floating around for a few weeks now that he had already decided this would be it. Nothing confirmed though as yet.
