Agreed. The Roosters big movers this year. Good recruiting and strong midfield.

Well I'm quietly confident of a good year but don't want to get too excited ;)

Anyway back on topic, who knows where Frankie Four Fingers will end up playing...

I'm not so sure about that CC - whilst they have lost a few players they still have a very good core of senior players and some talented youth players from their ressies / U18's coming through. They may lack some depth if they get injuries to key players given quite a few of the players that left the club could have been classed as experienced "fringe" players. Their best 21 (with AFL players Logan and Carr) is still pretty formidable:

F: Ruwoldt Grima Button
HF: Adlington Kirkby Bode
C: B Kane Murphy Willoughby
HB: Meyer Kirk Pannozo
B: Mules Mills Rudolph
R: Cranston Tennace Allen

I/C: Hitchcock, O'Grady, Kellock, Fosdike, Lally, Plant

Fair side that OTR, for a non-Bays fan you have a pretty good idea on who will be pushing for selection come round 1  . Agree with Milbo our midfield has a question mark on it ATM with the loss of Fisher, Block, Hall and Mouse. Whilst Tennace and Bode more than cover two of them the oportunity exists for the likes of O'Grady, C Kane, Kellock, Lally, Fosdike, Plant and youngsters like Snook, Bradley, Pitt and Pekin to carpe diem.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Well there isn't many left to choose from.

And I agree with Clarrie. Obviously some disharmony down the Bay way.

Lots of rumors emerging that he'll play at Torrens Valley in the HFL Country Div.

The owner puts out shed loads of coin, so it's a possibility.

So what do we all make of the Backwell 5AA interview??

It was a strange one... I dont for a minute believe he cant remember a conversation with his senior coach about how many games he was allowed to play.

It seems to be Brett decided he was playing in the NT and had become quite bullheaded about doing it. He is using the reasoning that he was doing absolutely everything right Mon to Fri as expected and didnt see the difference between his team mates playing other social sports(cricket, touch, Gaelic, volleyball, indoor netball) on weekends.. or going surfing... and him doing his thing... having a kick up in Darwin.

He does question as to whether every single other player attended the camp.... and that after his years of service and (quote) "I havent missed a session in 8 years" whether this camp was important.

Brett it seems doesnt think he needed to inform anyone as he was doing everything everyone else was doing on the track at traning. He seems to think he was issued with an unfair ultimatum.

Brett has stated he wants to play for the GFC in 2010. He has stated he will not play for any other team. He says he will try and helpout with the kids or around the place and then try for a contract in 2011. He was seemingly quite passionate about his love of the club and the team.

Cornsey was sympathetic... being a pig head himself. Cornes cant believe that a player of his calibre will just be wandering around the club "helping out".. as fit and capable as he is to play... and not playing. I know there are a lot of people like Cornsey wandering around quite vocally saying... "something has to be done about this"... its just stupid!!

Rowe was of course speaking from the clubs point of view that the trust had been broken... that it was Bretts call to terminate the contract and that he was allowed only 3 games (Brett says he asked for only one...).

Can the club turn its decision around?? or does Brett play the price? How will the club handle Bretts presence around the club considering his genuine popularity??

I personally dont think they can. And I dont think Brett will be welcomed back by the leadership group that terminated his contract nor the coaching staff when trust was the major factor in his dismissal. This year nor next.

Certainly disappointing... and certainly messy.
