i'd be making the parents pay off the damage until these 'children' reach 18 (was going to say maturity but that could be 50 years longer) & then they can start paying it off.....i bet the westies boys & girls hope westies are on fire during the year but not the grandstand

I'm surprised she wasn't called to help put out the fire - I'm sure she could have 'contained' the fire with a few expletives :D

Youths 'set West Adelaide Football Club alight'
Ken McGregor, Court Reporter From: The Advertiser March 15, 2010 2:14PM

A YOUTH who is charged with setting fire to the West Adelaide Football Club - causing $250,000 damage - smiled and waved as he left the Youth Court court today.

Two Mile End youths, aged 17 and 15, and a Richmond youth, 14, have each been charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft.

The 14-year-old was also charged with arson over the incident in January this year.

Prosecutors today told the court that the youths had stolen a laptop and cash from the football club before the 14-year-old later returned to City Mazda Stadium and set the clubrooms ablaze.

In the days after the fire, West Adelaide coach Andrew Collins said his players and club officials were "gutted" that their facilities were destroyed in the blaze.

He said he had lost paraphernalia accumulated over his 14 year coaching and playing career in the fire.

The youths will next appear in court in April.

One of the youths responsible for the fire has received a 4 month jail term (well, Youth Training Centre term).

The other two arsonists got good behaviour bonds.

Hopefully now that its finished in the Supreme court, the insurance company can begin proceedings to recover at least some of their losses from those found responsible. Why should the rest of us have to pay higher insurance premiums to cover some idiots criminal activity?
