Hope so. Did he give the bizzare decision against Heath Lawry enabling Sturt to get the first goal ?

The team that wins the qualifying final whoever that is and now we know it's Central ... no problems with that at all.

Bullcrapppppppppppppppppppppp Dedja

As Billy once sang
''Most people I know'' ....that barrack for GL would have hoped they were playing ST this week
As they did this time last year

Remember 2008
CD beat ST by a bees dick in the same final
CD oblierated GL the week after

No doubt there will be supporters and the GL hierachy saying the old ''we dont mind who we are playing ...etc etc..."
very NOBLE indeed
but give them a lie detector ....

pigsh*t Mal!

Should we just bow in awe and give the dogs the flag?

To win this year the Bays have to beat Central sometime in the finals anyway, so why the big deal?

No, it really doesn't matter who the Bays have to play ... you can believe what you want. ;)

pidgeoncrapp Dedja
Stop deluding yourself
And leave the jokes to people like me

I would be wishing to avoid one of the greatest performing footy finals team of all time
GL would have loved to have played ST next week

FOR 3 reasons
1
They keep beating ST
and
2
EG could fluke beating CD and knock them out of the finals race
After all
EG V CD this season
EG 1 win
CD 2 narrow wins at Elizabeth
3
If ST won today CD have to do it the tough way, trying to win and play in 3 elimination finals in a row
Somthing even this immortal team has never been sked to do

After last night - I'm tired of debating with people the merit of umpiring decisions (woo hoo Pies!), so I won't go there.

I will question O'Hara's decision to run into Sharples. Not smart. Judging by his reaction after the game, he knew it.

However, well done Doggies! What a win! "Never give up" were the Gowans words after the game. Those are the ones that should be remembered for motivation.
The Bays may not be literally "shi*ting themselves" but the seeds of doubt will have been planted. Nothing wrong with those comments.

I said to Mrs DW throughout the game, "I'm happy with this being a close and hard fought game. If it's close we'll win". No reflection on Sturt - just our knowhow and desperation will get us there in those circumstances.

Thomas, McKenzie, Gowans x 2 (late in the game), Dutschke (early in the game) and Cochrane were just awesome today.

Bad luck Blues, valiant in defeat - the difference between winning and losing that one was cooler heads.

Add another chapter to the mounting mythology being developed at Grand Central.

ummmm..that wasn't Tony Dey IIRC??? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I cannot remember the decision anyway  So it must have been there ;)

p.s. I am interersted to hear from neutral supporters on the umpiring in the last 10 mins...Did Sturt get a raw deal or did we just get undisciplined?

I'd be interested to see the stats (for what they're worth). Did Central have more of the ball ?
It seemed like Sturt used less disposals to get the ball forward also.

Sorry, I've run out of defacating animals or birds, but anyway, you clearly misunderstand the situation (except the bit about jokes, true I can't compete but I'm not joking here ;) )

The Bays have not lost a game for 5 months, were 2 games clear on top and are minor premiers. So all that means is that they have earnt a spot in the 2nd-semi, nothing more, nothing less.

The team that wins the qualifying final plays the Bays in the 2nd-semi. Now it doesn't matter if that team is Sturt, the mighty, invincible, never to lose in finals again Central, or a team that finished 10 games behind the Bays in the minor round. So all that means is that they have earnt a spot in the 2nd-semi, nothing more, nothing less.

Get the picture yet?

If the Bays play their game to the best of their ability, they'll probably win. If they don't, they'll certainly lose. That's the simple equation.

Nothing else matters.

Makes sense to me Dedja.
I reckon Sturt may be sweating on who the Crows release back to the Eagles next week. They, out of all the sides, have the most talent to come back in methinks

Hats off to both teams who fought it out to the end. Not the prettiest game but an epic all the same.
Another classic illustration of the value of belief and mental strength - and it's only that I saw us play for many years without it that recognise it's true value now.
Another glorious chapter in the Dog's Dynasty, but can they butter up next week and go straight through to the GF, which would be a perfect preperation?
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Over the years, opposition supporters have been saying that when the Gowans lads retire, that it will be the start of the downfall of CDFC dominance.
I reckon that whenever McKenzie retires it will be just as big a loss.
He just killed us today and in last years finals series.
VERY important and valuable player for the dogs.

Talk about an emotional rollercoaster for Centrals/Adelaide fans. Two games within 24 hours with a combined wining margin of 11 points - a heartbreaking 5 point loss for Adelaide and a heartstopping 6 point win for Centrals!

the fact that some Bays fans are leaping all over Gowans comment 7 days before the game would indicate a latent if unacknowledged sense of underpant soiling.........................

Or as Serena Willams said today I'll ram that **** ball down your **** throat.

OK, let's look at the stats.

The Dogs have won 7 of the last 9 GFs, have now qualified for 10 consecutive 2nd-semi finals and have only lost 2 finals games in 10 years.

The Bays have played in 1 GF in 23 years and have only won 2 finals since the '92 Prelim.

Yeah, you're right ... please move to the best jokes thread.

2 great games of footywas obviously happy with the way the second game panned out, truly awesome effort from my team, and also a gutsy display by Sturt, there were quite a few heroes and villains between the two sides.
Just a couple of points,OHaras bump on Sharples was a stupid thing to do,doesnt matter whether it was there or not in our eyes, you dont do it full stop, just gives the umps a chance to make either a wrong or right decision, and once done you cant change it,the ultimate price regardless whether its the wrong or right one is a shot on goal.
The talk about Toddy Grimas comments or Gowans post match comments is great, sets the scene, livens things up,the more of it the better,at least SANFL players publicly wear their hearts on their sleeve, its all good and adds to the build up.
Also I thought Sturts best player was Vassal ,never seen much of him before but he put his body on the line and lead from the front, hard nut by the look of it,thought when he came off Sturt were worse for it as he was setting a fine example.
Apparently it was a back injury and he went to hospital via Ambulance after the game as a precautionary measure.

Cant wait for next week now, should be another great game.

Cheers 8)
