Other results today were NSW def Tas by 37 points to win Div 2; NT defeated Qld by 1 point with the last kick of the day apparently; and WA def Vic Country by 48 points.

He reminded me a bit of Porplyzia actually. Do you think so? (That's the only game I've seen him play).

Nah, I think of him as being a relatively bigger unit than Porplyzia. He put a bump on at Unley Oval earlier this year in what was his 2nd league game I think that was probably the best bump Ive seen in the last decade at SANFL level. Bit hard to compare though as he plays further forward for the state side than he did at North.

Does anyone have an idea of SA's official best player of the comp

I think its a forgone conclusion that Trengove will get this honor. Haven't heard an official announcement yet though.

Confirmed - Jack Trengove

Probable All-Australians - to be announced this Saturday
Trengove
Tapscott
Panos
Craig

Possibles
Sumner
Fraser Evans

SA's best performance since 1997 - sit on that 'whatever'

You guys don't realise how much of a Victorianised comp this still is and for WA & SA to perform like they have is an outstanding effort. Against the Div 1 sides Vic Metro & Vic Country only won one game between them and it is the first time ever that Vic metro have never beaten any Div 1 team in the carnival.

'whatever' - where are you?

Does this mean that the Vics will be conducting a post-mortem? The coverage on Fox today was very pro-Victorian but for both Vic teams to finish bottom two must be a cause of some genuine angst over the border.

Interesting - who named these people M80s?

Sumner had poor disposal I thought despite getting a bit of the ball. Trengove was up there early but didn't play consistently for four quarters. I can't believe Wanganeen wasn't in there - he was in and under for most of the game, weaving in and out of traffic and doing some great work. Jolly and Silverlock hit the scoreboard but those two I can accept as being possibles amongst the best. As for the Vics, Talia could be noted, (quiet early at CHB until moved to the midfield) and I can accept Gaff. Jacobs? Maybe.

OK you want me to come out of my whole.

I said before the championships that we had a chance to win the whole thing. We ****** up against WA who were clearly the best team but I still think we did not do ourselves any favours by not selecting some players. How Hannath did not go to WA is beyond me.

Don't get too far ahead of yourselves boys. I believe Vic Metro were weakened by the fact they lost certain areas they could not select from which went to Vic Country. Vic would beat SA comprehesively if they had one team as we and WA do. Don't be fooled into thing the 18's comp has anything to do with this at all. You may be able to say that in 3 years. This is a good group of kids - simple.

Wrong Sonofa

18yo males available to each jurisdiction:

Vic M - 18,500
Vic C - 18,500
WA - 15,700
SA - 11,000

Next excuse?

Magarey my lad, was over there yesterday and speaking to one of the vic metro officials. They had deandenong and I can't remember the other 2 areas taken from them and given to Vic Country. Dandenomg is a massive area for them. Not all the best kids are playing TAC. They have 3 or 4 that woould walk into that side normally. But as he said thats the way it is and we were a better team this year. It was a really good effort by our boys. Now looking forward to Sydney next week. This retired life is great in footy season.
