Treeby up forward ! Nice one Ron , worked a treat & could be a look at next years line up assuming we get the midfield recruits we need . That said , Ive just got this feeling we will lose quite some personel , not just Colville retiring . Schwarz is of most interest , as his 2 year contract is up & no word of his re signing . My mail has him possibly wearing a much darker uniform next year if that club gets their way ! Schwarz & Ron just dont seem to be on the same page , clearly their not getting the best out of the situation & the team has suffered as a result . He looks to me to be a guy whos a bit of a one trick pony , but its a pretty bloody good one at SANFL level , & Im not sure if 2 years on now Ron has worked it out ? Seems a huge waste , especially with Passa leaving . Thoughts fellow Eagles ?

And I have heard for awhile about passa as well.
You didnt mention luke Powell he is rumoured to be leaving as well.
The eagles will need a big cheque book to go and buy some new guys me thinks.

My original statement was about the DIRECTION the club is taking.

As for the Board/President...

I am yet to hear them come out (either publicly or by writing to the members of the club, & I am one) & state...

The LONG TERM PLAN for OUR Footy Club.

If they fail to act soon, then I fear that we will NOT be around in 10 to 20 years.
That is a FINANCIAL certainty in my view, as the majority of our supporters are OVER 55 years old.
The on-field success of recent times - 5 GF's & 1 PF have 'hidden' these issues from us.

WE NEED A PLAN & A DIRECTION... to simply change the logo of the club is NOT enough, changing the MARKET FOCUS is the key here.

I think the writing was on the wall when the CEO suddenly found a new job.
Personally the club needs to follow the lead of others and sell the naming rights of Oval Ave .If the shitty Council doesnt like it move back to Thebarton or threaten to anyway
Get a media friendly coach who can draw new blood in to the club as well as getting the club back in the media.Look at Tim at alberton and Jack when he started back at south .
Thats just a start .

An Eagles side without Passador, Powell, Schwarze, among others is a very different side to the Eagles side we've seen these past few years...those blokes are champion players.

However, McGregor and Hentschel will see plenty of Eagles footy, as will Burton when he recovers from his knee operation (maybe, unless he recovers earlier than planned and goes straight back through the Crows).

What's the future of Lindsay, Colville, Cicca???

Lindsey retired last year and is now the Ruck Coach .
Colville and Cicca have not announced their intentions yet .

Hopefully Cica can have a good pre season - because I think that's where a number of players (particularly him and Symmons) have struggled for form and injuries over the past two seasons.

There has been some speculation he may join Joe Pedler at Mypolonga in the River Murray League next year. Presumably if he doesn't re-sign with WWT, thats where he'll play.

CCL I noticed you ignored my challenge of fact from last week , so Im assuming you dont know or cant be bothered finding out . If either is the case , you might have a think about not being such a sheep & consider more carefully just why I & others criticise quite heavily at times ! David Sabine & the last 2 years recruiting performance are two classic cases of inadequate & unexceptable efforts from those who run our club ! Ron had coached his last game with us if we lost in 06 GF . Does one game change absolutely everything for the foreseeable future ; does it not hide our past failures , and arent we seeing this now ! Well said Big Phil , at least your team had the class to do the business on the weekend , & dont they hate you for it ! Now CCL you know very well that its a closed shop , & most years there are no elections due to no nominations . No one fancies working with that lot on the board mainly due to being given very little say in anything football ( onfield ) related . Remember what they did to Sabine ? If you dont then take the time to find out & you might be very suprised my friend ! History is filled with those who were persecuted for being in the minority & its not white anting if its the truth ! ! ! !

Sam Jacobs and another former Eagle on an AFL list are being chased but they need to be delisted not sure that will happen!!
And that was not the former Eagle I was talking about CCL. This one is not on any AFL list at present .

Because Cicca is a legend even on one leg he goes in hard for the ball .Coaching staff Admin well say no more except they have lost direction .Head coach does not appear at club functions etc leaves duties to Mark Jeffries .Not good enough .Of course this may have changed since I was told that info

The only time Ron has not attended is when he has not been able to change a shift at work. He then has Chesty, Joffa or Bucky step in.

Due to work Ron would miss 2 or 3 after match presentations but has never missed sending his thoughts directly to the members via email each week after a game - win lose or draw.
