haha, you didnt win a flag mate, you just beat norwood lol!!! who hasnt demolished the legs in the last few years?

fair point, I love going to teh Parade on a Friday night for footy but lately we havent won, but still been a great night out, when we finally win like that I have a right to get excited!
how did james sellar go. did he get alot of game time and not in the ruck
i have heard that the adelaide football club are annoyed with glenelg about sellar spending alot of time in the ruck and on the bench and are thinking of a transfer to another club before june 30. would be the second player to change in acouple of years after Willits
was Mickan coach then
the question has to be asked if he is not playing because he wants people that will always be there to be playing in the possies. really you shouldnt do that

Mark was coach then. Willits a kid from Victoria with no club ties.. James a GFC boy through and through. WIll not happen.
Everything was done right by Ryan. WIllams got upset Mark chose to play him in the ressies at the position they wanted for one game. It was pig headed stubborness by the PAFC to take him away. Rory Kirkby had been groomed to go to CHB and Ryan would have played CHF.
James is getting the time he deserves on the ground and getting regular run arounds in ruck. Adelaide can go **** themselves.

Sellar is getting more than enough game time up forward as the Crows would like....however would want to keep performing as the Glenelg team is a tough place to get a gig at the moment...

That was the best possible result for revenge of black friday in 2004.
I enjoy all wins but that was SPECIAL! Just love the way our blokes never let up and made sure that they scored less than 1.4
We were cheering every defensive effort in those last minutes.
Just a great night for us Glenelg fans.

Credit to the Norwood blokes that we drank with after the game at The Colonist. Hard to keep your sense of humour after your mob cops a hiding like that. (Trust me I know).

Were going to need a bigger bandwagon because it seems WE'RE BACK.
Mind you, we have done nothing yet, until we win a flag.

Whilst last nights win was exciting and went a long way the expelling the Demons of 2004, it is tempered by the fact that many passionate decent Norwood supporters who I have a lot of respect for a feeling teh same hurt and despondancy that we Glenelg fans experienced four years ago.

To blokes and gals such as CP, ca, Squawk, Stan, JAS, REB, Adel Hawk, ohmyhat to name but a few we know what you are going through. I trust your club will make the hard decisions it needs to - I'm not to here say what they should be as you know your club better than I - but at the end of the day the SANFL needs a competitive Norwood. It has too much history and pride to stay where it is now.

Chin up, last night's experience will make the good times feel so much better when they return
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Thanks Tassie...appreciate your post and I'd hope myself and my fellow Redlegs would be just as magnanimous if (and when  ) the tables are turned again. Yes I agree the club probably needs to make some hard decision but as they are not mine to make I'll swallow the bitter pill and remember that tomorrow is another day.

Cheers to ya and congratulations on a well deserved win (sorry Tiggers forgot to say that yesterday).

Just had a thought... in recent years I've consistently held that blond-haired fella (Bailey?) as one of Norwood's best players when I've seen him. That bloke in particular seemed to lift an extra notch against the Bays and was always a thorn in the side for them. Now he ain't with the Legs anymore... would his presence have helped any? Does any of you Legs fans wish he was still around?

If Campbell did a "Coopers" job on Fish, then I'm nominating Trotter as best afield.

Partland was obviously on the Stouts to make that observation.

Yes.

Witnessed one of the strangest games of footy I’ve seen for many years on Friday night….apart from the totally embarrassing score line, there was quite an eerie atmosphere, especially when at one stage it looked like Norwood weren’t going to register a goal ……Glenelg played a fast, aggressive and entertaining brand of footy…looked a totally professional outfit in comparison with Norwood that played like a club with no soul ….It would be so easy at times like this to call for the coaches head, but when a team kicks one goal for an entire game, you really have to query the spirit and commitment of each and every one of the players. Even if you’re not playing for the coach, at least have some pride in your own performance and the club that you’re representing. Trevor Hill cut a forlorn figure as he walked alone back to the change rooms after the match....he looked like a man that had nothing left to give………to see a club I’ve followed all my life put up a performance like that is so incredibly disappointing and to be honest, totally unacceptable….where to from here?......for the first time, I’m really concerned about the future of this club….at a time when the AFL is expanding and poaching more and more of local talent the last thing this club needs is a drop off in support and sponsorship due to appalling on field performances… both of which are inevitable if it continues in it’s current vein. They say a week is a long time in footy…..well, the Norwood Football Club and the list of senior players has two weeks at it’s disposal to prove to it’s members and supporters that it has the ability and courage to turn this season around. Anything short of a victory against the Eagles will be seen as another nail in the coffin of this once great club.

It saddens me to think that the only thing I could do on Friday night - my first football game in 1 1/2 years - was laugh. Because that was all it was. Laughable.

Someone needs to take a stand here, and it should start with the playing group. With any luck, somebody would have launched his boots across the gym post-match and let fly. I don't have any time for the silky apologies you so often get when you're talking to a player be it at presentations, work, training etc - get angry and assure me its never going to ******* happen again as long as you have anything to do with it. These guys have emotions. Its time they started using them.

MAte swings and roundabouts. Four years ago we were in the same boat and fortunately we have managed to enter a new era and dare I say it a possible renaissance  . Whilst we are far from the real deal a little humility in winning is not a bad trait to have as you never know when the ride may end and the boot may be on the other foot.

what about appeasing a lot of people on here and going over the top and say we will be undefeated for the rest of the season and win the granny by 10 goals plus! now that would start another ruckus
