R15: Sturt v Port - Sunday 26 July @ Unley

STURT
Sturt midfielder John Greenslade is likely to miss the rest of the season after seriously injuring his knee at training on Wednesday night.
Greenslade, who hurt himself during a competitive drill, has been diagnosed with a significant tear in his medial ligament as well as a partial tear of his posterior cruciate ligament.
‘’We initially feared that John had torn his ACL and would require a full knee reconstruction,’’ Sturt football manager Shane Grimm said.
‘’Sadly he is unlikely to play again this year but it could have been a lot worse for him. We’re hopeful he could be ready to start pre-season training and play in Round 1 next year.’’
Joining Greenslade out of the team to face Port at Peter Motley Oval on Sunday is key forward Angus Bruggemann, who hasn’t recovered from a back injury sustained against the Eagles in Round 13.
Midfielder Christian Calabese and former Geelong forward Brad Hartman have been included on the extended interchange while McDonald’s SA Under-18 forward Jordan Dawson (188cm and 80kg) could make his league debut.
Defender Jarrod Lienert has been recalled to Sturt’s back six.

PORT
Port Adelaide will be boosted by a rare appearance from defender Tom Jonas against Sturt at Peter Motley Oval on Sunday.
Jonas, who has overcome a minor thigh injury, will be forced to make his way back to AFL level with a strong performance with the Magpies.
The Norwood draftee has been joined in the Pies’ 23-man squad by Jesse Palmer, Paul Stewart, Billy Frampton and Brendon Ah Chee.
Stewart and Ah Chee were dropped from the Power side which lost Showdown 39 by just three points to Adelaide last Sunday.

Heart wants Sturt but head says Port Reserves and by a lot.
Port Adelaide Reserves, with their admirable fitness levels, to roll over Sturt by 50-55 points....... Sadly

Stats show that the Eagles, West and South have a better record of winning quarters after half time.

Port should hold sway here, the Blues aren't in great form at all.

Don't forget to save yourself $14 at the gate by stabbing a free ticket from The Good Guys on your way to the ground. You're welcome.

Paid the $14 to watch a free flowing Sturt.
Power Reserves didn't look interested.
A Butcher mistake gave Sturt their 1st Goal - he didn't do much, did take a mark.

Reasonable Crowd - Sturt CS were giving Butcher plenty in 3rd 1/4.
CS involved in an altercation with a rather large Port fan.

Sturt were sharp.

Smashed from go to whoa by Kirkwood, Kurtz, Coad and plenty of others.

Who did Port's best in this mornings paper? Mitchell....lmfao. He had absolutely no impact on the game other than wearing a Jerry Lewis like trench up and down the middle of the ground.

If it wasn't Sam Gray, Logan and Summerton along with 4 others well ahead of Mitchell I'll go he.

Sturt's back smashed the Port forward line, Butcher and Harvey offered nothing by way of movement of target and the Blues backs feasted on rubbish forward delivery. Can't see why Sturt are where they are, unless they've been right down because they were a class above Port yesterday.

Okay, he seemed to get a fair bit of the footy to me but admittedly I wasn't watching individuals enough to accurately judge if he was say Port's best or fourth best etc
