Rnd 9 - North v West POST GAME DISCUSSION

Postby Big Phil » Sun Jun 02, 2013 6:55 pm

Roosters come from the clouds, kicking the last 6 of the match, to win by 10 points - after trailing by as much as 27 points in the final stanza...

NA - 14.10 (94)

WA - 13.7 (85)

My man Nathan Gordon the star, with 5 goals !!!

Fantastic win by North, just don't want to win like that every week. Sounded like, and from keeping an eye on the stats, that Westies put some good pressure on North for 3 quarters. Hoping North can start games as well as what they finish them. I guess it shows that the Roosters are a fit side.

Was the Max Thring free kick there?

Any reports? Would be strange if a North v West game didn't have someone booked.

Thats it for North v West for the year unless both teams can play finals, because of the weird fixture. Played West twice, yet haven't played the bays, and we meet 3 times this year.

Great win for North, perhaps the most notable result in the season today?

Yep, after North played dumb footy most of the day, the West player (not sure who) who dumped him well after the ball was out of bounds gave away one of the dumbest frees I've seen in a while.
Most of us would have given him a less than 10% chance of kicking the goal and he drilled it, didn't look like missing from the time it hit his boot, a game changer for sure!

How good was Nipper today, he is bloody awesome!!

Told you North are the side to beat.

I was very impressed when they gave the Eagles a 'touch up' a couple of weeks ago.

Yep, definitely.

Thring got the handball out, West's Scott Bricknell then 'slung' tackled him post disposal.

Max did well to open up the angle a little bit more, sneaking around from the mark and his goal floated through sideways !!!

Great atmosphere up in the stands during the last term and was an amazing game to call !!

8 quarters in a row of crap footy over 2 Sundays, but in just 10-12 minutes of sensational footy North can beat the top side, can't wait to see 4 full quarters of good footy!!

Makes me wish, even more, that one of Nathan's mates, Trent Goodrem, was able to convince him into coming out to the Dogs !!!

I get the feeling Gordon will only be at North one year unfortunately.

Yep, totally agree.

Met his old man after the game, who said there are a few AFL clubs keeping a very clise eye in him.

I don't want to harp on about it, but seriously, the guy can bloody play !!!

Not having Bennett and Allan has given Amato and Thring an opportunity though, which they have taken, and enabled North to get quality like O'Sullivan.

Been watching him in the warm ups every game at Prospect this year and he slots goal after goal from that pocket without ever looking like missing. He was always a big chance from there. Not too many would kick that goal though particularly given the situation.
