Interesting type of game if the numbers are to go by. A total of 233 marks for the match; 85 above the average of 148 for 2012 matches.

Better effort. Disappointing to sleep for 10 minutes at the end of each half.

"Diet Pumpa" Lawton looked at home most of the day, solid debut. Still some quality players to return in coming weeks/months, future is promising.

Nonsense. At what stage did anyone think West were a chance to win in the last quarter? Even West players stopped celebrating goals much earlier. All they did was kick a few meaningless goals when the game was shot.

This was an excellent showing by the dogs. Right from the bounce, we were sharp, clean, direct and clinical going forward. The midfield were excellent. Schiller, Boyd, Williams, Sansbury, Thomas, Symes all provided run, drive and hit targets going forward. Often after dodging around or shrugging off some poor efforts from the training cones. Collier down back was fantastic, cutting off the usually poorly guided and predictable (to all but West forwards) entries but also giving great run and rebound. Hardy, Hannath and Henderson were all pretty effective, but Henderson in particular was fairly wasteful of some great chances to really hurt West. Lawton looks a good find. Gave a good contest, was pretty good with his chasing a tackling. Looks like he needs to build his fitness up a bit, but hopefully he's here for the long haul.

If Centrals were direct, hard working and effective, West were the total opposite. Slow, sloppy and at times lazy they chipped it around, even missing those short sideways targets under no pressure. Is this side really supposed to be a top 3 challenger? I have to figure they are a lot better than they were because no way did their game today reflect a side with a winning record. Their 6th goal was particularly embarrassing for them. 2 forwards just refused to chase the defenders who ran the ball out unopposed. Luckily there was a sloppy turnover and the ball went back to find them on their own where they kicked a goal from the goalline. Henderson chased 80m at near a full sprint to just put a little pressure on. From what I saw today I don't imagine any West guys would have put their hand up to do the same. So often they were beaten by their opponents forward or back. As for their tackling and pressure, it was so poor as to be near non existent. Anyone keeping stats of missed tackles or how often they got taken on and run past would have needed new pens at each break. At least the West fans who made the trip out kept their voice for the game.

You're a glass half full kind of bloke aren't you Grahaml?
I hate it when we win and get outscored in the last quarter (half in this case). We took our foot off their throat. I can't remember the last time we killed a side off. Still too many worrying signs this year.

I call it as I see it. If we play badly and win I say so, sometimes (albeit rarely) I've thought we played well and lost. I'd also rather see us hammer teams in that situation, but in reality it matters so little compared to how we played when the game was on the line. Anyone who is truly worried after today is a serious pessimist.

I'm very much the same, find it extemely dissapointing when we let the scoreboard flatter the opposition in the end, really took the gloss of a very impressive performance today.

Fair enough. I wasn't having a go at you. We are on the same side.
I was happy to win and enjoyed the first quarter, but not so much after that. As Sam_goUUUdogs said it spoils the win a bit. The important thing is that we won, a win is a win.

You should be used to that by now. We have been cruising home when games are won for 12 years. Once upon a time we would pile on 20 goals and lose the next week.

I read an article during the week raving about Joel Tippett. He looked rather average to me.
