Ken McGregor appointed Glenelg reserves coach

Postby Big Phil » Wed Jul 06, 2011 10:05 pm

One former Crows player takes over from another as 2's coach at the Bay !!!

Good luck to Ken, although the Tigers ressies are travelling pretty nicely, they could almost coach themselves !!!

Not that I'd know but this seems to be a very strange appointment to me, not any criticism towards Kenny. My point is that either Massie already has the seniors job or if he was doing such a great job a ressies coach and didn't get the seniors job, why wouldn't you try to keep him as ressies coach. What's more, surely the new head coach would want a say in who is coaching the reserves etc.

The article only states its for the rest of this year. He was unofficially coach the last 2 weeks. Now its official.

I'm sure when they announce a new senior coach, a reserves coach for next year will be announced then.

Would imagine that like most clubs whoever is given the Senior job at the club will be required to appoint his own Assistant Coaches?

Ok, I only really heard about it on 5AA tonight while working back and figured that the way they were going on about it that the position was for next year also. Never heard so much fuss about an interim SANFL reserves coaching position in all my life.
Didn't know some of you guys were so easily confused :0
