Going, Going, GONE (Draft Targets)

Postby FootyWiz81 » Fri Jun 17, 2011 3:34 pm

It would be great to hear from everyone who they think is a good chance to be drafted at end of 2011 :)

I am a RMFL Imperials Old Fella and I made a list of a few RMFL lads proving they should get a chance

Adam Eckerman- may be a late draft pick up, played a few league at port magpies and was rmfl 2010 mail medalist

Ben Hansen- has been given a shot in the league team last week and didn't let down, got in best players and showed he could play as a small tagging backman

Sam Phieffer- first league game this week for sturt, tall long arms strong full back will always make a contest could be a really late pick up if he finds a bit of form this season.

CHAD WINGARD- be a top 2 draft by what I have seen, I got to see the game Saturday and he looked the goods.. Kevin Sheedy loves his running skillful indigenous lads so goodbye Chad Wingard.

And even more sadly watch a number of mature age players go into the 18 team AFL comp.
From South Stribling and Thewlis not without a chance, every club i dare say would have a couple of targets.

If Wingard went Top 2 after Sam Day and Jack Trengove have gone gone in the top 2 (I think) over the last couple of years then that would be an amazing run for Sturt juniors. Unprecedented in recent times I would have thought?

From Norwood:
- Luke Brown
- Darren Pfeiffer
- Alex Forster
- Mitch Grigg
- Patrick Levicki
- Dylan Reimbrecht

Would all be a chance IMO.

Add to that Adam Tomson pick #11 and Gus Monfries pick #14 in 2004.
I've asked this question on the AFL forum but I'll ask here also, what has happened with Tim Milera, I heard he has quit AFL footy.

I think the Crows have publicly said that he is not required at West Lakes for training for a few weeks....Quickly becoming another Rhys Archard too hard basket.

Definitely Wingard will go early and if Hansen keeps up his form he will be on club radars too

In my opinion, the following lads from Central would be a chance:

Josh Waldhuter
Steve Rusca
Jarrod Schiller
David Haydon
Travis Schiller*
Thomas Dunne
Paul Marschall
Troy Menzel
Jacob Templeton
Adam Cullen
Charlie Molyneux

* Not sure if Travis is too young to be drafted next year?

Possibly perceived as too slow for AFL perhaps?

I'm never sure why he, Brayden O'Hara, Daniel Havelberg, Lee Spurr, just to name a few, never got drafted either?

AFL's loss is of course the Dogs gain. Still can't work out how Paul Thomas didn't play more than 8 AFL games either?

Havelberg never really has got his body right until this year.

O'Hara 's reason was obvious and Thomas maybe a tad slow but very unlucky but he'll win the Magrey this year .Spurr can't really comment but Havelberg isonly missing one thing from his game to make AFL imo.
