Judging by the CEO's comments that the club are livid that the player has clearly wasted their time in getting him to the club.

I don't think we will be seeing Aaron Kite playing SANFL football ever again

IIRC when the kid was out at the Crows they were talking him up as a 200 game mainstay in defense. Fallen a long way since then obviously.

I love the CEO coming out so strongly.

Aaron obviously did a great job in telling the eagles what they wanted to hear.

I suppose there's always 2 sides to every story, maybe he suffers from depression or Bi Polar.

I guess things go two ways. Todd Miles was told to go on his way by the club after serving us well for a couple of seasons. Aaron Kite gets recruited, and I'm sure he was on a lot more than Miles, and leaves without playing a game.

You win some, you lose some. He isn't the first (Biagi comes to mind) and won't be the last failed recruiting attempt.

West faced the same problem last year with Tony Ronaldson which really effected our year as he was our main ruckman. To a lesser extent, it happened a couple of years ago with Salim Hussan

Kite got the arse from Norwood and the Crows because of his poor attitude, cant believe the Eagles wasted their time on this pea heart, told you at start of season you would do well to get half a dozen games out of him.

It is with disappointment that we inform you that Aaron Kite has made the decision to return home to Victoria citing personal, family and commitment issues as the reasons behind the decision.

Kite, who had an interrupted pre-season after undergoing surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right foot in December said “I know this will be extremely hard for the Club and its supporters to understand and I expect that many will be disappointed with my decision”. “Everyone at the Eagles couldn’t have done more welcoming me into the club, I have just realised that I do not have the commitment necessary to play at SANFL level and therefore it is time for me to return home to my family”.

Eagles CEO Chris Davies said “There is no hiding from the fact that we are bitterly disappointed with Aaron’s decision to return home”. “The Club had made its decision to recruit Aaron in good faith that he was ready to resume a career at the highest level he could play, clearly our faith was misplaced”.

Obviously the Club will now focus its attention on our task at hand at Coopers Stadium this weekend versus Norwood.

What the club would be well within their rights to be annoyed about is the fact that had they not had Kite commit to the club they could have put their money and effort into another quality recruit, hopefully with the space in the cap that they have now they will be able to sign someone else perhaps out of the NTFL for example.
