BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Postby mal » Mon Jun 07, 2010 9:56 am

Is it right to BOOOOOOOOO the visiting team as they walk off at games end ?
NW V CD
Sunday was an epic contest between 2 committed teams, with the Legs winning in a thriller
Everybody at the ground saw a great game, neither side deserved to lose
I have no doubt that mostly all supporters at the ground had to respect the efforts of both teams

As the CD players left the ground at the players race a contingent of the crowd BOOOOOOOOOOed them off
At the same instance in the Parade stand a NW a ST and a GL supporter were actually clapping off the CD players

QUESTIONS
Did the CD team deserve to be BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOed ?

What reception did the CD players deserve after this great game ?
A : BOOOOOOOOO
B: Clap
C: Any other result

My answer
B

PS
I clapped both teams off

mal, as we mentioned on RPH's call yesterday, it didn't seem like the 'right' thing to do in terms of booing Central off after a great display of SANFL football...

But as was also mentioned, it was just the Gowans' boys getting the geers ;)

Not sure what the fuss is about - we at North "boo" our own players off even after the few unconvicning wins we have?

If there had been an on-field incident and emotions were running high, you might expect something, but reading the game thread it seemed a good-spirited, highly competitive game as it should be. To boo Centrals after a loss like that would, if anything, only give them more ammunition for future (especially finals) contests, although you'd think they'd have other sources of motivation

Im' sure our boys will wear it - our supporters have dished enough of it over recent years.

A couple of times at the Parade too.

Could of had something to do with Scott Dutschke spitting at Norwood Supporters at half time as they walked off!! Even James Gowans gave him a clip around the ear for that one!!

Prefer this than what is becoming a regular occurrence at another ground
where a small but growing group of home supporters come ONTO the field to jeer their opponents.
Even more disapointing is that whilst security perform a barricade the do little else to deter this occurring again.

Where's this happening?

2 centrals supporters did rush on to the ground near the race to get amongst the Centrals team and then agitate the Norwood supporters waiting for their team to come off. Fortunately they were seen out by Weslo.

I thought crowd behaviour yesterday was pretty good from both clubs supporters.

As for Norwood supporters booing of Centrals players, non issue happens at every game at every ground, can't believe someone even brought it up as an issue.

Soon supporters will be expected to cheer and clap the umpires off after every game.

Well done Norwood supporters for being there supporting your team yesterday.

Its happened at Elizabeth a couple of times. Security should stamp it out. By not kicking the few that come on, off, it encourages others.

Agreed from where I stood ... Thought the mix on the Hill was close to 50/50 and everyone seemed focused on an enthralling game.

As for the booing, personally it's not my cup of tea but I guess it's up to the individual to decide how they want to support.

Where I was the Centrals supporters took the loss for what it was ....a close game that could have gone either way.
To be surprised at supporters boooooing the opposition is surprising in itself, happens every ground, every game. They were booed when they ran onto the ground to start the match too.
Part of the game.

Our players will be emotionally scarred from this incident and no doubt seeking counselling as we speak.

I think that the only remedy for their pain will be to win this year's flag
