Bassett Decision

Norwood coach Nathan Bassett has been fined $800 by the SANFL Tribunal for using abusive language to an umpire, during the match against the Panthers on Thursday night at the Parade.

They probably deserved a spray.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Well, it has cost Bassett $800 to learn what some of us already knew. It's pointless giving an umpire a spray, they don't listen anyway.

Whereas it's comforting to know our coach is passionate about his job, he can't allow his emotions to dictate to his actions during the game.

We are in for more frustrating moments during 2010, so Bassett needs to buckle himself in for the ride, and forget about abusing umpires.

Getting conflicting stories on the Bass Report, some say he gave the umpires a spray at 3/4 time, other say he gave them a spray as they left the ground after the game.

Personally I give the a spray all the time  and then some more

Cheers

I'm surprised Bassett did that, he always seems so cool, calm and collected. Then again so am I when I am not on the sporting field, lol.

Umpires probably deserved the spray, Bassett probably deserved the fine.

Probably doesn't set the best example, will be hard to drag a player off the ground if he gives away 25 meteres for mouthing off at an umpire hey.

I would get frustrated if I coached NW on Friday night as well
IF
2-3 players who could not come back on the ground after 1/2 time
A delegation of an AFL club monitoring a certain player who was only allowed a 69er playing time
4 players overseas when the club needs all hands on deck
And to concede a 4 goal start to the perennial wooden spoon dwellars of this decade[and be equal at 3/4 time and lose by end, pending on when Nath swore]

Yeah I would be

2003 - North
2004 - Norwood
2005 - West
2006 - West
