AFL players returning for finals

Douglas not going to play for Glenelg. Perhaps seeking a trade home?

Sellar WILL play for Glenelg, it'll be interesting to see how he goes after a stint in the big time.

Hentschel is unavailable.

No surprise on Hentschel, I did not expect him to play due to him getting through the season without further injury on that knee.

Agreed, he's got to look out for #1. Injure himself and it could be career over so not worth risking.

Yeah, fair enough for Hentschel. I'm sure he'll be able to repay for all the half games given to him in the future. Hopefully he gets another contract for the Crows and can perform well next year without injury.

I'm hearing he needs a minor knee op, just a clean up, so the Crows wont release him for the Dogs...

One of the SL.org posters has intimated that Dougie could be going underneath the knife in the next few days, so not sure you can say he has opted not to play.

What's the go with Reilly hasn't he qualified for Sturt???
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

WWT shafted AGAIN
Tent Hentscell
WWT did a wonderful job rehabilitating Trent Hentschell last year and this year
Trent was able to string a few games together 2009 , including last weeks AC loss to CO
And now he is unavailable for WWT becoz of soreness in the knee

The same sorness he would have played with if AC played a Prelim Final and a Grand Final in 2009 ? ????????????????????????????????????/

John Reid says
Reilly and Douglas feel uncomfortable playing for thier SANFL clubs

THEY DIDNT FEEL UNCONFORTABLE PLAYING DURING THE YEAR !!!

QUESTION ??????
If GL or EG have a few injuries this week will Relly 0r Douglas feel comfortable ....

No consequence for the Bays Mal, more than enough depth at the club to field a competitive 21 for the rest of the finals.

Their AFL career is no.1 for them so there should really be no expectation that they will come back for SANFL finals.

If they do (like Sellar or Meyer) great, if they don't then no big deal.

As I've stated a few times before, if an SANFL team is banking on AFL players returning for finals and building the team around them then they're in trouble to start with. ;)
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Interesting viewpoint Mal. Personally I'm not too fussed Hentschel isn't playing, but glad Shirley is. Hentschel wouldn't have been at the Eagles at all if it wasn't for his knee injury, Shirley has played some good AFL footy, but a lot of the time has been a fringe player.

Don't disagree Dedja, a team can't rely on their return. having said that Barnaby French in 2002 and Skipworth in 2006 played major roles in those premierships. No doubt also they would have been glad for the opportunity to play, as was Stewie Dew.

Here's a hypothetical! If Griffin is available this week, or next for that matter, is he eligible to play reserves for the Dogs?

And for those who say it won't happen - did you see Griff's last game back from injury?
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Now the Crows are out Griffin can only play reserves whilst the league side is still in the hunt, which probably won't be a problem as they will be around for a while one would think.

So if the League team win this week & get the week off, but the reserves lose and play in the prelim - would he be eligible to play in the reserves prelim under the condition of returning from injury?
