2nd we beat Ports round 1... What would be the reson why a team would have an internal trial half way through the season? I can't work it out???

So it'll have nothing to do with testing out 4 players the announcement lists as returning from injury then or perhaps using the Bye as a chance for the interim coach to experiment whilst keeping the lads active or how about just something different from the usual running and gym workouts.

Exactly!
New coach, fitness work, look at promising reserves players, keep some sort of routine going. etc. At least the new coach is willing to try a few different things. I reckon the Bays and North might have tried a few things too when they had the bye either side of the state game.

Personally I think it's a great idea. So many teams struggle after the break, and with a new coach, I see it as a win win.

The coach can see who wants to play, and it keeps the guys in the mentality of playing week in week out.

Was actually 2 x 25 min "halves" and more of a training session than an internal trial. Then Cotts gave all the boys the weekend off, after they had some of the best steak sandwiches in the history of mankind!

At last some good news. Many thanks for the info 'fes' old chap. Oh, while you're there,
are there any reports of Norwood players being rushed to hospital as yet ?
Apparently the word going around is that the cook looked like a pretty dodgy character.
