No... its still football season.. Go Adel Utd!!!![]()
Cricket has started to lose its appeal to me. At least now the Aussies are coming back to the pack and we dont have a bunch of whingers touring the country this season. So it may get interesting again.

I hate cricket and soccer and love basketball and golf (no where near as much as footy) so taking up some time with the other 2 sports but it's not the same without footy on. I hate this time of year, especially because I hate the warmer weather also and I know it brings out the boring summer sports.
I did get a god footy fix this weekend just gone. My silly parents booked holidays way back in January for the the GF weekend and missed out on seeing the Doggies 7th flag. So, to make up for it, we had a full on Grand Final BBQ at their place and watched it on Dad's massive plasma. There was about 8 of us and we were chanting all the Doggies songs and cheering every bump, tackle and goal like we were at the game. It was good fun.
Then on the Sunday, I needed another footy fix so I watched the replay of the 2007 Grand Final. That brought back some good memories as well. But, no matter what the substitute, it doesn't replace the real thing. I wish the SANFL was played 12 months of the year, I love the Doggies and I love this great competition we have here in SA.
I guess this coming weekend there will be the International Series with the Irish so that might have to do, otherwise, I did discover a VHS tape of the 2000 Grand Final when I was cleaning the spare room the other day so I might have to put that on this weekend, that's if the Polish missus doesn't drag me along to the Polish Festival that's on this weekend !!
I love SANFL footy and can't wait for season 2009 to start, bring it on !!!!

Some could say that, especially as a Doggies supporter, we have been pretty blessed in the last 10 years. But it has been frustration, like all clubs go through, in years gone by. We've had our ups and downs, just more ups in recent years !!
For me, footy, and in particular Centrals and the SANFL, is an obsession, I love it and can't get enough of it. I love it and can't think of anything better than to be at an SANFL game cheering on your favourite side and watching your team win premierships is awesome. I've been so lucky this year and been able to have some involvement in broadcasting games through the radio and it has been one of the best experiences of my life, I've just loved it !!
