As per my post in the pre-game thread I thought this would be a danger game. The Eagles really missed Salter but particulary the prsence of Grocke. I thought the umpires were very ordinary all day today - too many inconsintencies. It's not so much the number of frees paid but where there paid that makes the difference. I would have thought close to 5 frees to the Tigers in the fwd line makes a consideable difference.

Take away Glenelg's purple patch in the second half of the third quarter and it would have been a good old fashioned arm wrestle. Both teams had periods of dominance without fully capitalising on their chances. A good standard game and a pleasure to watch. Pleasing to see the Bays win every quarter; a much needed tonic after recent weeks.

The lack of a backup ruckman for Parry really hurt us yesterday. Everytime Parry went off or a rest we got slaughtered in the middle especially in the 3rd quarter

The Eagles wore black arm bands yesterday as a mark of respect to the Mother of former CEO John Kantalaftis, who sadly passed away late in the week.

spot on 100% & i think it was a case of 'who cracked first' during the 3rd term, i think that holding the ball decision when carr ran down rowntree was the catalyst as we went straight down got a goal & two more in quick succession & from that point on we were never ever going to lose......watching the replay this morning they showed the incident/collision of salter from last week when he got reported & obviously suspended......for mine it was a joke he should never had been reported let alone suspended & at worst it should have been a down field free although personally i don't think it was late & was a perfect hip & shoulder bump....please don't turn our great competition into ballet` football as well
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Think that sums it up pretty well. Glenelg blew a few chances early, Eagles blew a few in the second (1.6 just wasn't good enough, esp after 5.1 in the first) then the game was gone in pretty much 5 mins of the 3rd when Glenelg kicked 4 in about 5 minutes (dont think our boys got near it in that time), after that it was back to a bit of an arm wrestle.

Think we missed Seb Guilhaus yesterday, has worked his guts out in the ruck so far this year, as soon as Parry went off for a rest we really seemed to struggle in the middle, and without Grocke (wont include Salts or Schulz becuase they arent a definate evey week) it meant Hill had to stay forward and Miles stay back. One positive from yesterday is the form of Rowntree and Geddes, were probably the best 2 players in the 2's finals last year so good to see them step up.
Trust the process.

I was interstate for the match (and unfortunately will miss the next 4 weeks as well). Not surprised to hear the result. Makes next weeks game very important. Good to see Rowntree and Geddes continue their good form. Will have to have a look at the ABC Iview.

Hey Spelly, is it three in a row now for the Bays over the Eags, in FootySA terms that's bitchdom status isn't it???
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Bays too good, Eags just didn't get enough of the footy. Tenace was v.good.
I thought Rowntree played his best game for the Eags.
The result shows that we need our best cattle on the park to match it with the top sides.
i expect us to react and really challenge CD this week.

Is that the first time ever that the Bays have beaten WWT three times in a row?

(Would that change if we allowed draws into the equation?)
