You could almost fill another quality side JUST from the current injuries at Central at the moment, including their AFL listed players.

CENTRAL'S INJURED SIDE:

FF: __________ - R.Henderson - C.Gowans
HF: K.Jenner - M.Westhoff - __________
CL: L.Barmby - C.Musolino - B.Symes
HB: T.Dunne - D.Havelberg - A.Duncan
FB: R.Cochrane - __________ - A.Hayes
1R: M.Frail - J.Boyd - C.O'Sullivan

So that's pretty much 3 starting players and an interchange bench short of a full team, with some pretty handy players. Only young string bean ruckman / forward Mitch Frail (back) hasn't played league football, although he did play some league trials at the start of the year.

Yes, there are a couple of AFL listed players there and I think I haven't forgotton anyone too obvious. That also helps explain why Central's reserves are struggling at the moment which is of course also having a flow on affect to the Under age sides as well.

Pretty ominious signs if the Dogs can get back to full strength, they will be hard to beat one would suggest.

More to the point, if you removed players of similar quality from the training list of any other club in the comp do you think they would be competitive (and be sitting 2nd)

Is it typical bias?

I didn't realise fact was categorised as bias ( Just kidding mate ;) )

Someone made mention in another thread, I think a non-Doggies supporter, that the current crop of Central players out injured at the moment would almost make up a full side that would be a pretty competitive team.

I pretty much agree with them, because...

That side includes the following:

- 25 Premiership medals between them

- Close to 500 games of League experience

- Over half a dozen State Representive games played

- 2 Jack Oatey Medals

- Magarey Medal Runner Up

- Bob Quinn Medalist

- Norm Russell Medalist (CDFC League B & F winner)

- Club record goal kicker for an individual game (14 goals)

I'm not trying to be a sm@rt arse here either, just adding some facts to the post ;)

And I did read and agree with your disclaimer at the bottom mt79 ;)

i completely agree with the fact that with those players out its a big handicap for the doggies

i personally think the SANFL should step in now and not let those players return for the remainder of the season

not bad for a side with no depth. But, let's not get ahead of ourselves, We play The Wiggles this week. Funny set up though, We are up to round 8, We have had 2 byes, yet We haven't played Torrens, Norwood or South yet.

It is a strange one. Norwood and North haven't had a bye yet, Sturt have played South twice but still haven't played Port or West yet. Plus we have the bye twice within 5 weeks. Strange programming.
