Just as an aside, I recorded the game and watched it last night.

One curious aspect was that Glenelg gave ABC very open access to players and staff ... Stephen Rowe, John Symonds, Mark Mickan and Sam Rudolph were all interviewed either during or after the game.

North on the other hand refused ABC access to their quarter time huddles and no access to anyone associated with the club that I could remember.

No big deal (and not meant to have a go at North) but the contrast was interesting ...

Not having our No. 1 ruckman is also hurting our fwd line structure with Alleway having to do a dual role and as good as he is it is asking a hell of a lot to carry the side up fwd and in the ruck when other fwds have quiet days.

That's a very fair point, but I will add that the Bays were without their no.1 ruckman in Cranston as well.

Plus as Danny is a Rookie he cant play for the Power until he gets elevated to the main list, does he really count as a Power player in this conversation?

North aren't the friendliest and most open club, I read a great article by Rucci of all people not long ago about how Frank Costa is so accessible at Geelong and his number one aim and goal in making a successful club is to always make the board accessible, open and on a level the members can relate to. My two clubs are opposites in so many ways. Its ironic that I feel closer and more welcome by a club Im a member of that resides 800kms away, see only handful of times and is in the highest competition than one that resides 28kms away, I watch every week and plays in an amateur comp. :?

No problem at all.
The players need to make the right decision's, & need to kick goals instead of points- it's really that simple.

I think both teams were pretty good at looking the ball in there forward 50 when kicking with the wind. Both teams kicking into the wind struggles to move the ball out of defence quickly. This in some part was due to the wind but the teams had to set the system in place and work together.

I thought Alleway was great in Ruck and floating around the ground. It is the best game I recall him playing against Glenelg.

For the Bays to solider on without Kellock from early in the 2nd qtr and then without Bode for the last qtr was a super effort and showed plenty of courage. We need to build on this and go forward after the Bye.

Trembath was very good on debut giving off 2 goals and kicking the Match Winner. Rudolph in his 50th was super down back and Button really stood up and proved he is more than good enough to become a key player at League level in our side.

I would think that the umpiring could not get any worse than that effort. Deboy should not do any higher than Reserves till he gets out of nappies and Corey Bowen was an emergency at AFL level the other week and at best next week he should be an Emergency for the U/16's. I think the fact was soooo many times they missed the 1st and 2nd free and paid the 3rd free which was generally not the same team that should have got the 1st or 2nd. I think we defiantly had the worst of the Umpiring but in genereally that was terrible. Odds on all 3 will still be doing League next weekend.

Interesting to note from this game that Todd Grima has been reported for 'Rough Conduct' but will not face the tribunal until next week, May 4th, becasue Glenelg have the bye this week.

Didn't remember seeing any incident with Todd, not sure who the North player involved is, did anyone else see anything ?

Didn't see anything with Todd Grima, did see something with Alex Grima. The umpire gave a free and a 25 metre penalty, but when you watch the replay, Grima was only retaliating after a North player punched a Glenelg player on the ground.

Glenelg were absolutely robbed by the umpires in this game.

That was Thring very dirty act and wasn't even close to the ball. The umpiring this year could not get any worse, every game this year i've seen them pay the soft frees that should be let go and not pay the obvious ones, wtf is going on it's nearly as bad as watching a crap afl umpired game atm.

Robbed so much that they won? The umpiring was as usual bad both ways but at the end of the day, as normal, it didn't actually result in how or why one team won and the other lost.
