SANFL Big Screens

Sturt will have a big screen at House Brothers Oval for their first home game of the year against Glenelg. It will be positioned down infront of the bowling green in the SW pocket. The club is trialing the idea while other clubs watch with interest as to how it is recieved by the punters. If it goes well, expect it to be a regular feature at most SANFL games covered by the ABC.
Well done to the SFC for showing some initiative and making it happen.

Sounds good. A big screen at the night games at any oval would be also very good.

good iniatitive, actually last night at norwood jackpot jim in a jocular fashion asked ''where the big screen was''

Its ok when when sitting side-on to the game but when sitting behind the goals as i was last night, it's very hard to tell whats going on down the other end unless you're Bayman, equipped with radio commentary and telescopic vision.

honestly waste of money imho, id prefer Centrals to concerntrate on spending money on stuff that will get extra people through the gate. A big screen is ok but im generally there to watch the game live and at real pace not on a tv.

I don't know to many people who will go to an SANFL game because theres a big screen at the ground, i would prefer that instead of spending money on a big screen maybe they make entry to there first home game completly free for all adults.

Its good fun at the Docklands when they replay some of the old Grand Finals of the host side on the super screen, that could go down pretty well in an SANFL setting.

With well managed sponsorship the costs would be minimal to any club, it will aid a revenue stream from advertising, better profile for existing sponsors and as mentioned previously, it can add to the atmosphere on the day with replays of past glories etc.

Fantastic initiative by Sturt. As for the cost, if the 36ers can afford one for every game (telecast or not) then I'm sure SANFL clubs can afford them.
