My Darkest Hour

Postby Wedgie » Tue Nov 01, 2005 6:45 pm

Always had a giggle to myself on footysa when I was accused of being anti-Port as I knew this photo was floating around somewhere, my mate finally found it. If this isn't paying myself out or setting myself up I don't know what is.
Ironically there's one floating around of me in 1992 almost getting into fights with Port supporters while barracking for Glenelg, what a bandwagonner! It's amazing what a bit of drinking does to a young immature mind.

Time: 1990
Place: Footy Park
Game: Grand Final Port v Glenelg
Attire: Feral Mullett, 2 necklaces including Angels dog tags, black stone washed jeans, Port Adelaide mate's Simon Tregenza Tshirt, $5 digital watch and basketball boots.

It was a one off, not sure how I did it considering it was only 12 months after the 89 debacle, I just hated the Bays with a passion, I think meeting Mrs Wedgie in 1990 who was a Bays fan (but I switched her to a North fan of course) might have helped me find reality.
The North fans are going to give me heaps over this one.

Amazingly Mrs Wedgie was at that game with me and she was barracking for Glenelg, its amazing we're still together 15 years later!

Surely a man with your levels of computer literacy can delete an image? What a shocker. The mullett is a far more acceptable lapse than the disgraceful adornment of the hated Magpies plumage. You must be the only Chooks fan in Australia who would wear black and white a mere 12 months after the 1989 Grand Final debacle. Oh dear indeed!

First Jimmy, now Wedgie.

Maybe that old adage is true after all?

There are Port supporters.
And those that wish they were Port supporters
.
