Good Pedigrees

Postby SABRE » Sat Feb 27, 2010 8:37 pm

How many sons of famous dads are running around SANFL (or any other) clubs this year ?

Can any South fans confirm that the Tom Butler (No. 34) who played in today's trial against
the Eagles was one of Shane's lads. And if so, was today his first hit out in League company ?

Keegan Brooksby, son of Phil, at South this year. Last years under 18 B&F winner, had some very dominant games last year as a mobile forward/ruck, as well as a few Reserves games. One to monitor carefully.

I think that's a bit harsh 'Bunts'. The kid was probably a bit overwhelmed by the occasion mate.
I kept an eye on him and although he didn't set the world on fire (like most first gamers), he kept
running through the corridor making himself available and when he got possession he delivered
fast and accurately. He's got quick hands & looks like he can run all day. Didn't mind the odd
defensive hit and block, so he'll enjoy 'mixing' it. I reckon he just needs confidence and once he
adjusts to the tempo of league, you'll probably see him bore in, take the initiative and stamp his
own brand on the game.

fair call - I understand he was a late comer to the game playing tennis until just a couple of years back. Nowhere near league football yet, but has a great attitude and always gives best, so who knows what he may be capable of in a couple of years time, if he sticks at it.

:D
Great to see Will Dalwood get a run for Norwood against the Roosters on Saturday.
His dad Grant was always a fair sized unit, but he tells me that Will's 6'5" or so,
puts him about 2 or 3 inches above 'the old man'.
