I guess the question is, as you say, 'how do you make a comparison' due to so many factors involved in it. I just saw the 'we've got the worst deal in the country thing' as another way of shifting blame. You'd be fine if you were getting the 40,000 you projected at the beginning.

Its not about shifting blame, its about fact. Its easier talking about the Crows and leave Port out of it really. The Crows are 2.4 million behind the average in stadium deals. This is a club who has sold out probably every regular season game for as long as you could think. So crowds really dont come into it when talking about AAMI stadium. If Port was getting 40,000 to games, we'd still be 2.5 million behind the average, and only just making a profit. The club and the SANFL have agreed that if they were getting the average AFL stadium deal, they'd be making solid profits on a yearly basis. Of course crowd figures come into it and yes Port need to seriously improve in this area, but as it stands, the SANFL needs to come to the party as well.

Careful TC and Macca, all this rational rebuttal might just make their collective heads explode.

Ultimately, until the SANFL dont need the AFL clubs to serve as their largest revenue stream, both clubs will miss a lot of the revenue they generate.

The SANFL is trying to work a balancing act - taking as much as it can from the AFL games to fund the SANFL comp, but at the moment its cutting too deep given how far the Crows are behind the AFL averages.

.. Perhaps moving to Adelaide oval will help as the state would only have one facility to maintain, but there are issues that needsolving.
