I had assumed Mouse had invited him in ... hope he enjoys the showbag!

Thought it was very, very unusual that instead of deciding to play the team songs as the teams ran onto the ground, they played the Crows song to celebrate the fact they were in the AFL finals.

Just odd and I don't think it was necessary at all.

I really think people underestimate how hard the job of getting the song right is. It is a very stressful job and if you stuff up, everyone knows about it. You only have all week to prepare two songs for the day and the hardest part is working out which one to play at which time.

But that said, how the f*** you can play an AFL song at an SANFL ground is beyond me!

they played some of the port song at norwood last saturday
i thought it a bit tasteless playing a club song when that club or i should say franchise wasn't even there at richmond yesterday
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

The Bays were far too good for the Bloods last week, but even in a loss there were some good signs for Westies.

Matthew Martin, only 19, but 195cms and a big boy, was too fast for Mills at full-back and showed strong hands in the first half to kick 4 goals at full-forward. another key forward for next year to complement Ryan Bennett.

Ryan Ferguson again showed his class to dominate Kirkby, forcing him to be shifted.

Taite Silverlock showed plenty at half-forward as well.

For Glenelg, I thought Ben Kane was best, but I was really impressed with young Kellock, who deserved his Star Search Award this week. Fisher had 8 possessions in the first 8 minutes of the third quarter. Kirk continued his good form at CHB and Panozzo did his usual stuff well.

Although he didn't get much game time, it was the quietest game I'd ever seen from McConnell.

Good to meet up with CK, Bayman and am Bays and renew acquaintances with Michael Godden and other ex-Westies and cricket friends on the Bays staff.

He was very impressive - big body, good pace on the lead and strong hands. He might well be quite a dominant fwd in years to come.

I thought you might have mentioned the bloke who took the mark up forwards in the first term, running one way while Daniel Kirk was running the other. (Fisher? Darned if I know, I didn't buy a budget). One of the better marks I've seen in the SANFL this year, several Bays fans applauded it. Shame he couldn't follow it with a goal.

Yes, Pseudo, good call.

That was Ben Fisher, one of the most improved players in the League.

Glad you think Kirkby is benchamrk for Ferguson to show his class R&B and yes I thought Ferguson was very good especially his body work to create space for himself. Mind you Kirkby did get free a few times but yeah you have to give the points to Ryan.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I agree, am Bays. I rate Kirkby pretty highly.

I was talking to a couple of Glenelg officials after the game and they were very impressed by Ferguson.
