I think the Eagles have several chances - McKenzie (always polls well), Cicolella (fantastic last 4 weeks or so), Broadbent (consistent all season but will depend on how many afl games), McGregor (one of our best all season).

Jimmy Ezard, Ryan Ferguson and Bronik Davies would be our best chances. Cupido may also get a few votes at the start of the season but has certaintly tapered away since then. (he is ineligible anyway)

Very broad list here, but in my opinion, the winner will come from one of the following...

GLENELG: Ty Allen, Trevor Cranston, Adam Fisher

CENTRAL: Chad O'Sullivan, Scott Dutschke, Jon Griffin

STURT: Tristian Gum, Jade Sheedy, Craig Evans

EAGLES: Mark Mackenzie, Matthew Broadbent, Ken McGregor

NORTH: James Allan, Rhys Archard, Matthew Wright

WEST: James Ezard, Bronik Davies, Ryan Ferguson

NORWOOD: Brett Zorzi, David Trotter, James Gallagher

PORT: Brad Murray, James Meiklejohn

SOUTH: James Boyd

Just on the Magarey, for the first time in a few years, the presentation is on the move, as per the Messenger website...

THE Magarey Medal is returning to the home of SA footy, AAMI Stadium, for the first time four years.

The SANFL’s night of nights, that was held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre last year, has also been moved from a Thursday night to Tuesday, September 15.

The two years prior to that it was held at the Adelaide Convention Centre in Grand Final week when it was broadcast live on Channel Nine.

But a scaled down presentation, due to the global financial crisis, will see it back at AAMI Stadium this year.

Although it won’t be live on TV, Channel Nine will still do a live cross during the night.

``Besides the change of venue we see it as the number one SANFL function of the year,’’ SANFL state league general manager Darren Chandler said.

``It’s a black tie event and we’re expecting a full room.’’

Chandler said a ``full room’’ would be about 400 people given there would be less tables available for outside groups including club sponsors this year.

``In every event, like any area of business, we’re being as efficient as we can,’’ he said.

``But we’re confident it won’t lose any of its prestige.’’

That's a shame, Aami Stadium's banquet room is very very ordinary. Ive been there for a ball once in the last couple of years.
Real shame its going downhill, the Magarey I went to at the Convention Cenre was top notch!
Typical SANFL though, instead of promoting it, making it bigger and better and more attractive to TV just wind it back so more time can be spent on heating the hotdogs for AFL games.

Yeah, I know mate ;)

I basically wanted to list 3 blokes from each club, but of course struggled a little bit with the Maggies and Panthers...

If Port had won more games Brad Murray would have been in with a massive chance, he has had an outstanding season.

I reckon Brett Zorzi will give it a good shake. A stand out player in a so so side and has been good when put under the umpies eyes when put in the guts
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Agree with you there mate. But unfortunately I have a sick feeling that Sturt have pinched another Magarey medallist of us in Tristan Gum.

Collins obviously rates Murray highly.

Last night at presentations he quoted him as "probably the best player in the SANFL at the moment"

"Oh but there will still be a live cross from Channel 9" Big deal, I tried to keep a running tally on the radio last year, but the presentation went way too fast. It's amazing how much in the SANFL has gone down hill in the last three years.
