North decided to do there own thing and have decided to play the capable kids in the reserves before the SANFL requested date.

North are one of the clubs making a mockery of the U18 cpmpetition.

Thats a completely different point and one I agree with for a majority.
I think in the spirit of the game no 18 year olds or over should play in it and commend North if they don't play overage kids like others do.
North are only worried about developing their juniors and the club as a whole and not the closeness of the Under 18 comp.
I don't have a problem with that as if the Under 18 comp is closer it doesn't help North in anyway. With the way the league didn't give North a cent when they were dead and doesnt give us anything we ask for in the draw I fully expect North to worry only about North and not give a stuff about what the SANFL or AFL want.
But this is off the point I replied to and perhaps should be discussed further in the Under 18 thread.
My point was making a wide sweeping statement based on 8 days is absolutely clueless especially when you look at the stats I provided.
The Magpies will be lucky to be around in 2 years time while North make more money than the Power. I'm pretty confident in which one has the best future (although North will probably continue to be mediocre, that'll still be better than anything the Magpies will ever achieve again).

You are being very ignorant Wedgie if you think the Port Magpies will not be there in two years time.

They have had a decade of being unsuccessful, but the wheels are in motion and the tide will turn. With the quality of kids coming through, its just a matter of time.

That may be true but how is your club going to fund all of that with your current debt and cash flow issues?

Debt is only bad if you can't service it. Why don't you also ask that question of the 6 other clubs that posted a worse financial statement than Port Adelaide?

?? and how do you assess that? I'm not having a shot but you are raising a pretty intersting point and I wonder if you can back up that statement with facts.

Which club has the brighter future?

North Adelaide.

Yep, who cares about U18s results? All the good kids will be snapped up in the AFL draft, so no clubs will really benefit.

All of them hey? Gee that's a lot of vacancies on AFL lists.

And we generally find that the clubs that don't care about their juniors are the ones that don't put a lot of effort into it.

North had 14 players out the starting 21 playing school footy last Saturday, would be a pretty good reason for a belting.
Hey soccer you owe us 45million.

The financials for each club were publicly presented by the SANFL about 4 weeks ago. That's what started all these anti Port headlines.

An example is Port Adelaide's debt at 2M, including the Prince of Wales License. While Glenelg posted a 3M debt because they are servicing the Social Club upgrade at Brighton Road. Where was all the hysteria about that?

The main difference being, everyone loves sinking the boot into Port Adelaide.

Revenue probably paid a big part in that too I'm guessing mate (and really it is only a guess as I haven't seen the financials for any club).
