Except for deciding what order the five will be, the rest of season is a waste of time.

Actually, you may be onto a good idea. Maybe we should have it like golf where the laggers are cut early. The 9 teams play each other twice, 4 drop off, and have a "round robin" where the 5 remaining clubs play each other once to determine the make up of the final five.

It would certainly make teams get off to a good start :)

Couldn't agree more!


But I bet each of those top five teams think they can win the flag. Compare this to the AFL, where I bet only four teams (Geelong, Hawthorn, St Kilda and Western Bulldogs) genuinely believe they can win the flag, whilst for others eg Essendon, Brisbane, Carlton, it will be a "nice" finish to the season and their development if they finish 4-6th (like Westies making the finals here).

... or even better, no finals, the Premier is just the the team thats top after the home and away series, and retrospective to last year please.
