My understanding is that the SANFL like teh AFL try to take into consideration clubs requests for the draw and teh AFL fixtures compared to 10 years ago when itw as more of a case of: "this is the draw like it or lump it".
So with Glenelg requesting a game on Quens B'Day weekend and Sturt riding on our coat-tails requesting a home game that day too, Norwood and Centrals wanting night games (and the subsequent programming of breaks), teams wanting to play Sunday games to avoid local leagues etc, Port Magpies wanting to avoid games when Port Power are playing, the SANFL wanting wherever to possible to avoid clashes with Crows games etc the draw for the SANFL becomes more complicated.
Hence the current relatively confusing draw.
