unbelievable that the selecters couldnt pick atleast 1 ,if not both proven SANFL champions,in the gowans. osullivans non selection staggered me aswell. and that is presicely what we lacked all day is what those 3 could have/would have produced, grunt around the stoppages and more importantly forward line pressure.they were walking out of defence with ease it was terrible.

There was 1 rep Ryan Williams but his performance was terrible, probably his worst performance i have seen him play since coming to Central.

IMHO O'Sullivan and the Gowans would have given the midfield a more attacking threat to it.

I also think O'Hara was unlucky considering Treeby, Schmidt and Martin were all used on the wing at various stages.

to qoute the great man, its not rocket science. the gowans would have loved the conditions, and the opportunity .they are proven FFS!! its like putting a 2000 mtr horse in the melbourne cup instead of makybe diva.

Agree, absolute crap that Centrals were not well represented, how a couple of twin brothers can be overlooked for a State match is totally beyond me (as much as we love to hate them), I reckon however Roy Laird is sitting back with a huge smile on his dial, knowing that his lads have had a week off and not injured in what really is becoming a wasted weekend of footy

Was surprised too! I think Fergusson should have played on LeCras much earlier on. I didnt like the fact we allowed WA to play additional unmanned men in defence - we needed to man them up and lead them out for Brant. Disappointed in the outcome but "footy was the winner" and it may revive some interest in the State Comp - especially when we host W.A in a few years time

This was brought up after the game as a reason for the loss. Interesting.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

It was a great game, though I thought we would get killed, it was wet, windy and cold. Happy that only Willow played as the game was hard at times a few SA boys are hurt. I think SA needed some tough players in the middle and watching the game makes you wonder how some got selected..I think Roy will be happy keeping his players instead of sending them over here.. :D

Scott Dutschke would have been pretty handy out there today.
His form for Centrals has been fantastic.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

The composition of CDFC players in the initial squad a stark contrast to the Clarkson coached team that beat WA by 10 goals at Fremantle six years ago.

This page in the archives of cdfc.com.au. IIRC at least eight Bulldogs ended up in the actual side.

Ah.....yyyeah. Hardly unexpected considering the Captain of the other team couldn't even get a game ;)

No CD players
What does this mean ?
It means that Roy Laird is possibly the best performed coach in SANFL history

Had a chat with Jade Sheedy in the hotel lobby before the players flew out yesterday and he made a couple of good points...

He said that if the SA had won, there wouldn't have been any talk of why the Gowans twins and O'Sullivan (in particular) were not another part of the Centrals representation in the state side.

He also said that without any hesitation, if Paul Thomas, Ian Callinan and Daniel Havelberg didn't have to withdraw from the side with inury, they would have been in the final 22 without any shadow of a doubt. Result may have been different as well if that were the case he also said.
