Thanks for those kind comments, ST.

You're right, the 'matter-of-factness' about Centrals song was meant in recognising something to aspire to. I acknowledge the years of hard work that preceded it.

I'm sure they sang the premiership songs with jubilation.

Equally as impressive as the comeback win is that our guys remembered how the song went.

Trevor Hill, on the other hand, is obviously struggling to get some of the most talented footballers in the SANFL to understand his gameplan.

i think you over estimate how good the norwood squad is compared to the west squad

I think as a Sturt supporter I can completely empathise. I remember being at Adelaide Oval when Sturt won its first game in over 650 days, downing West Adelaide in 1996, having not won a game since 1994. In fact, I remember shedding a tear when we beat West Adelaide in the finals in 1998... first time making a grannie in 15 seasons!

I've just had a look at the video of the winning goal.

The ball is kicked in high to West's forward line. Two Norwood players are in front for the mark. The third player is a West player who comes over the back to outjump them and spoil to ground. Gallagher takes clean possession and is immediately perfectly tackled by the same player who had spoiled a second before.

The ball spills to Davenport, who scrambles it forward to Caruso, who handballs to Hassan, who goals.

The winning goal was made by that West player who spoiled and tackled in an instant.

That player played CHF for two quarters and kicked 2 goals. He played CHB for 2 quarters and his opponent was totally unsighted.

That player was Ryan Ferguson.

Not flashy, usually unnoticed, but an inspirational player and captain.

Ryan Ferguson = Nathan Buckley
R&B = Eddie McGuire
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I can help but notice the parallels between the Essendon finish and the Blood's finish. Both red and black teams won in the final seconds after being too far behind to be given a serious chance at the final siren yet got the points at the bell.

No, am Bays, just an attempt to recognise a good player on a football forum that often tends towards the glib response.

I admire certain players from all teams. They all have their equivalent of Ryan Ferguson, but some are more recognised than others.

what the hell happened to the legs? that far in front and loose the game. what is going on down at the parade. they were looking the goods a few weeks ago, on top of ladder and going well. with performances like that we dont deserve to be in the finals. No disrespect to westies that is a boost for the bloods..
