that would be a bit odd if carey pulled the pin...
currently getting the chance in 2s... doing better than most in getting that chance
id think he will stick it out, hes a quality player

and i highly doubt that solly and lycett will play league when the return
they have been good in under 18s but both only still under 17s... i think they have a bit of a way to go before playing league

The tip was given to me from another league player with another club who knows the player in question.

Vinnie Rugolo apparently has departed Port & is another League player heading to Henley.
Maybe Henley to be the 10th SANFL team!

Seriously what is going on up there? I don't like Port but sure as hell respect them and I've always admired Timmy for his hard work when he played.

What odds Port for the spoon now?
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Vinnie at present is only a B grade player at SANFL level.
You don't like losing any players but currently its a joke with how many players have departed.
They need Pest Control out there ASAP.

Perhaps with the imposing form of the Centre of Excellence Program, (another fighting win over the weekend) some of these fringe players are sensing the writing on the wall.

Same thing happened at Norwood in 2004 where we ended up losing about 20 players with AFL/SANFL experience and whilst we weren't going to be around the money anyway, the number of departures certainly lead us toward the wooden spoon that year.

Can't see Port dropping that low, but it's amazing how quickly the departures can add up and put a club well behind the 8-ball.

That said, I'm sure Port (as with any club) will benefit long term for having only players that want to play for them down there .. Always been of the belief that if you're not sure you want to play for a club then piss off and stop wasting everyones time.

1870-2000
The best football club in the SANFL
Produced the best local talent, nutured that talent and won countless flags
Some good recruiting from elsewhere helped as well
Great coaches and the best players most of the time

The formula 1870-2000
A GREAT PLAYERS
B GOOD COACH
C combination of admin, recruiting, raffles, revenue raising etc etc

2000+
Have not adapted
That sensational feeder system of local talent is gone

To re-establish SANFL prominence 2000+
A POKIE MACHINES
B SNEAKY ACCOUNTANTS TO RORT THE SALARY CAP
C GOOD RECRUITING OFFICERS TO SCOUR THE LAND FOR GOOD FOOTBALLERS THAT ARE NOT AFL STANDARD
D PLAYERS
E COACH
F KEEPING THE RECRUITS AT THE CLUB FOR EXTENDED PERIODS

I think they are focusing far too much on the interstate recruits by targeting the wrong types and paying them mega bucks for not much return. This is then getting the local boys off side and them finally having a gutful and telling Port to shove it up their jumper and they leave.

I know that was Eichner's reason for departing. Fair enough too.

they do worry about interstate recruits to much, there are people playing div 1 that should be at port adelaide, Eg shane Jordan, he dominates the ammos but should be at CHB for the port magpies. and then there are people who left the club and are at other SANFL clubs like Kyle Jenner.
