Well done to Corey Bowen for his two goals in the 2nd qtr for Westies

Liam would kick 100 a season if he got those!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

4 of their first 5 were from frees, all within 30mtrs of goal directly in front

Not directly in front? Surely not directly in front?!

Surely the umpires know you can never pay any frees there!

No, you should write to the SANFL during the week and give them back.

The annoyance comes from the fact that McHeld, Hosie & co get blatantly scragged time after time & get nothing, then all of a sudden the one umpire already mentioned, plucks 3 frees out in 8 minutes down the other end which all result in easy set shot goals.

I reckon west's game plan was based around scragging the opponent. Not just the forwards but at any contest on the ground.

That’s certainly the way they played against Sturt with a similar result.

Very negative, multiple hard tags and lots of negative tactics

What do you expect from a team with about 4 SANFL standard players?

Westies should not even be in the competition anymore.

They have had one reasonable season in the last 10 years.

Would struggle to beat the best Amateur sides.

It’s time to close the doors at Milner Road!

You needed to whine after the first wooden spoon this decade. Argued how the SANFL rigged the rules, because they want Westies to come last and that you can’t wait to be out of there, then you might be able to get some concessions.

You still have to play with some positive intent… against Sturt there was virtually none of that.

Negative, scrag, heavy defensive positioning first. Talent gap aside, it was disappointing to see them play that way when they are a young team who needs to develop together.

Stolen David Noble’s game plan from when he was at the Bay.
