Sturt up by 11 at 3/4 time, coming home with the breeze in the last.

Have controlled the match since 1/4 time, should win comfortably from here.

Sturt have steadied, will take this one … and have, win by 8.

Deserved the win, controlled most of the match.

Breeze dropped off in the 4th…. After working so hard for 2 qtrs into it and short on the bench Sturt did really well to steady in the last 5 minutes and grab the win after the bays hit the front

A good game, although a lot of turnovers and the umpires were too whistle happy all day, particularly pulling a lot of frees for holding in marking contests.

I thought the umps favoured the Bays

Agree, the wind was less of a factor in the last. Even though they nearly did steal it, the Bays didn’t deserve to win so an appropriate result.

I don’t think the umpires favoured either, were just way too involved on a day between 2 good sides going at each other - thought they could have let them play more.

Agreed the blues had the balance of control on th day and deserved the points.

What a great advertisement that was for SANFL football. A great contest between 2 rivals played at a high level. Both sides have added some new elements to fairly settled sides. Was interesting to see Sturt keep a player on the field for the last quarter, Edmonds, who could hardly run, no doubt Mattner had his reasons but it does risk aggravating the injury.

Grivell went off early in the first qtr with an ankle injury, Carey was out there with a shoulder issue (and copped a bake from the crowd for going at one, one handed in the last because of it!) and Edmonds was struggling too, not sure he had too many options other than to try and keep him out there as long as he could.
