Since 2010 Fremantle, 1, Adelaide, 1, West Coast 2 have made Grand Finals playing outside of the NEAFL/VFL competitions.

is that a product of the competition or the coaches, internal development processes, list management/selections or god forbid the AFL FIXture, mate??

From 1991 to 2010 sides from outside the NEAFL/VFL who distributed players across their available state league clubs made nine grand finals for six premierships - was that a product of the competition or the coaches, internal development processes, list management/selections or god forbid the AFL FIXture ;)

IMO I'll always maintain that the former system was the best to support the development of new AFL listed latent as it taught the young draftees how to compete.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

What do you think the detriment would be to the SANFL if the Power reserves were to move to another comp, AG?

Perhaps we'll see the VFL go back to Victorian teams and Sydney, GWS, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Port, Crows, West Coast and Southport play in their own competition?

The AFL, VFL, SANFL, WAFL and NOCFL.

They have only played 5 games, so at most he would have 15 votes. I would be very surprised if he got 3 votes at Prospect in Round 3.. He didn't poll a vote on SANFL Now. He at best got third best on ground from the coaches.
I think that Boyd from Norwood may have nearly as many votes at this stage,

Looking at the fixture I noticed a week's break over the weekend 18-19 May. Further investigation determined that there is a state game in Perth on the Sunday. 10 days away, and we haven't heard a peep yet. I amused myself with the concept of a weekend in Perth, and went so far as to look at airfares ... then I realised that the game is at Optus stadium, and appears to be a curtain raiser to a West Coast Eagles game.

Oh well.

Must be hard for those past players who bled for the prison bars seeing the squibs getting a game now.

Why cant they start their own SANFL side and continue the tradition?

You're right, there was a promo post for the game, I didn't scroll back far enough. But if you feel that's adequate coverage, well fair enough...

A 26-player West End State squad has been released, with as many as nine debutantes a chance to play in the KIA State Game against the WAFL in Perth on Sunday.

SANFL Chairman of Selectors Tim Ginever has included 13 new faces in the squad to face the Sandgropers at Optus Stadium after defeating the VFL by 14 points last month.

Woodville-West Torrens premiership defender Luke Beecken, Norwood trio Billy Cootee, Tom Donnelly and Matt Ling, Sturt pair Connor McFadyen and Amos Doyle, West midfielder Kobe Ryan, Glenelg utility Riley Holder and Central defender Brinn Little could don the cherished red guernsey for the first time.

Experienced quartet Chris Curran (Glenelg), Eamon Wilkinson (South) and North Adelaide pair Mitch Harvey and Campbell Combe have also been called upon to retain the Haydn Bunton Junior Cup with a fifth successive win against the WAFL.

Among the players unavailable for selection are Glenelg’s Liam McBean (hamstring) and Lachie Hosie (broken hand), Eagle Riley Knight (calf), Bulldogs midfielder Harry Grant (knee), West defender Josh Ryan (hamstring), as well as Norwood ruckman Harry Boyd and Sturt rover Will Snelling.

West End State team coach Jade Rawlings will put his team through its paces at training on Tuesday (Alberton) and Thursday (West Lakes) before the team flies out on Saturday for the contest at 2.15pm SA time, which will be the curtain-raiser to the West Coast v Melbourne AFL match.

The KIA State Game will be screened live and free via SANFL Now and AFL Live Official App and AFL.com.au

So did Boyd and Snelling just say no thanks? Big advantage to their clubs.

Maybe the SANFL should withhold them from the next league game?

I don't have FB and even if I did I wouldn’t visit other clubs pages I don't support, but out of interest, how much coverage did South's Ressies get?

Then you guys would whinge if we were given our recruiting zones back and whinge about the superior training facilities and demand a move to Nazer reserve. And then we'd do this all over again :D
