Question for the umpires observers?

I watched both games at Alberton today and obviously the best teams won easily in league and reserves.
IMHO after watching 3 previous league and seconds games I thought the new last kick oob interpretation has changed this week.
I may be wrong but I thought not all last kick outs were paid.
Is there some discretion if a kick out is a genuine mistake?
Also catching the ball over the line seems to negotiate the free?
In both these situations to my understanding a kick out is a kick out on the bounce or on the full.
Also to me suddenly the umpires have stopped paying free kicks to anywhere near the extent they paid them in the first two rounds.
Anyone agree or disagree on my comments?

There was only one notable mistake I saw with the OOB. Players are making more mistakes than umpires by touching it before it goes out instead of letting it bounce out for a free to them when kicked by the opposition. And so many supporters still can't work it out.
Umpires were deplorable today though, couldn't bounce the ball but kept trying, inconsistent holding the ball decisions and the best one of the day was when Clinch tripped over his own feet and got a free kick for it!

I heard that on the live stream. Umps kept re-taking the bounce as the first one wasn't right. Just throw the ball up FFS

There were couple of times when it was touched off the boot VP, which might have seemed from a distance that it went OOTF. And Wedgie is right, the players haven't quite got to grips with it yet and persistently touched it instead of letting it go over the line for a free. But they'll sort that soon enough.

It us hard to believe the players still don't get the new rule and the cheap free kicks on offer.
Perhaps the coaches are partly to blame by not explaining not to touch the ball as it goes out of bounds then.
A game could be won or lost on this error.

The rule is a joke, the mental midgets that brought it in should resign in disgrace. It's just something else for the umps to be inconsistent with, its not the game I grew up with. The rest of the country is laughing at us.
